Came here on a Saturday night. Table for 2. Wait:30 minutes. The entire staff was very attentive and polite. The food was great. We order the feast for 2-3 people. Pretty filling. At the beginning we had an ok lady server ( can't even remember her name ) who had to leave and left JERRY ( male good server who's name I do remember )... I would like to say that JERRY is a great server. I gave him a bit of a hard time. (I'm sorry jerry) but he continued to be professional and caring to my needs. Thank you JERRY.

Food was not that good, rib tips were a little chewy, corn bread tasted a little fishy. Beans also tasted the same don't know what they're using if its the same grease or what. Service was terrible. Got no greeting when I walked in. And had to ask to place my order and to get some water. I won't be coming back here again.

I was excited to try this place but was utterly disappointed. Mac & Cheese should never be spicy - I would have rather had boxed Mac & cheese it was so bad. And then I tried the Mashed Potatoes, now I have to say that I love garlic but these mashed potatoes were just ridiculous. It was like biting a garlic clove. The ribs were not great either. The place should just be called Dave's because there's nothing famous about this place. Big disappointment.

Normally the food is good. I'm giving a 3 star review based on service. First there was no one greeting or seating. So we waited for a good 10 minutes for someone to notice us. Also for some odd reason you can't choose two of the same sides or meats when ordering a combo. Problem with management ..May change my rating if I decide to come back.

Thus place is not that great. The wait was way too long .. they don't take cell numbers down, and they don't have buzzers We actually had to wait for a little over an hour because it was father's day and dad wanted to try this place. When we got seated the waiter was impatient and was making smart a*** comment to our menu questions! That was so rude! The food was ok... I rather eat at Lucille's We are definitely not coming back here

Food was great! Good ribs and definitely the best Mac n cheese and corn bread. I'm coming back.

Went Saturday for my second time. Service was OK, waited 15 mins before our waitress showed up at our table to take our drink orders. Food came, my Texas brisquet had great flavor, but was quite fatty. All the sides were good. After telling the waitress about my brisquet, she agreed it looked bad and told me they just took some, fresh out of the smoker. She brought it to the table, and what a difference! Great flavor and nice and tender. She even gave me extra for the inconvenience. Overall its a good BBQ place, with a good selection of BBQ sauces and great side dishes.

Good ribs, great selection of BBQ sauces at your table! Tasty mashed potatoes & corn muffin. Could've been served a little hotter. Beans were delicious. For comparison, I give Dave's a 9 and Gus's BBQ in Pasadena a 10. They are a little bit better I'd have to admit, but a little more $ and further away. I will go to Dave's again for BBQ close to home, they were pretty solid. Rib tips during happy hr are a great deal. Excited to return. Better value than Lucille's maybe

So I had been to this location once before and was SUPER unhappy. The bartender crystal or Christina I think her name was, was more worried about socializing with other employees then taking care of customers. I vowed to never go back, but a group of my friends were going on a Saturday night for a friends birthday so I reluctantly went. I am so glad I did and in fact created my yelp profile just so I could write this review. Our serve Melissa was very attentive, knowledgeable, and funny!! Everything she suggested was great and she really made our night! If I do ever go back here again I will definitely be requesting her again!

The boyfriend and I had a really good lunch experience at Famous Dave's a few months ago. We went back last week when we were in Ontario and got a less than ideal experience. PROS: 1) THEY HAVE AMPLE TV'S IN THE BAR AREA. We were able to watch clips of the Olympics. CONS: 1) WAIT TIME WAS TOO LONG. Since we were going to catch a 7pm movie, we couldn't wait 30 minutes for a table so we opted to sit at the bar. Seating at the bar is limited to counter top only; which is only about 10 seats total. The only seats left were the lower counter top (aka handicap seating). 2) BARTENDER/SERVERS IGNORED US. I know it's the bar area and you shouldn't expect great service if you aren't drinking, but everything from handing out menus to refilling drinks were SLOW. Not only were we ignored by our own server, but also the other servers who could clearly see we needed help. 3) RIB TIPS WERE ULTRA DRY, HARD TO CHEW OR FATTY. When the menu said dry rub, I thought it was only going to be the sauce on the rib tips, not ALL of the ribs. 4) PEPSI HAD TOO MUCH SYRUP. Or maybe it didn't have enough carbonation? Either way it tasted off, I didn't finish one cup and only got a refill/a different drink at the end of my meal. 5) THEY DON'T TAKE RESERVATIONS OR CALL AHEADS. Maybe it was an off night, but this experience might discourage me from sitting at the bar ever again. We didn't even use the birthday deal, buy one entree get one free because we weren't hungry enough to get two entrees.

The St. Louis ribs were great! Loved the garlic mashed potatoes, but the serving was small(like for a young child). Sweet corn was great and the cornbread was delicious. Both of us got the lemonade with the caesar salad($2.99 each). Salad was good. Atmosphere is nice and we were seated quickly in our booth. A variety of BBQ sauce to put on your ribs if you choose. Now, she got the chicken, which was very soft, but not a lot of meat on the chicken. Unless your watching your weight or a light eater, then get the chicken. She liked the cole slaw, tasted almost like KFC's cole slaw too. Great service, but we never got our BBQ chips from the waiter he said he would bring to us. We got full and decided not to mention the chips. Overall, a good experience at this restaurant!

Worst food and service EVER!!!! Waiter seemed depressed. Served 2/3 of our food, one of us waited another 20 minutes for their plate and then it was missing a side. Ordered the baby back ribs and they had too much sauce. Very little meat on the ribs. The Mac n cheese is horrible had to send it back. This is summer, the fresh corn is pre cooked and was all shriveled up, cold on one side and scalding on the other. YUCK! I will never go to Dave's again. Restaurant looks worn, dirty, dusty and very divey.

After a 40-mile round-trip to eat some Baby Back Ribs (Summer promo), I was informed by my server that they were out of them. SO, as you can imagine I was a very unhappy camper. How the Hell can you run a promotion and not have your item you are promoting in stock? I spoke with the manager who said they had "gotten slammed over the weekend" and for some reason no one bothered to put the ribs in the smoker the night before, but instead did it at 11 a.m. Sunday....opening time. WHAT? Those puppies are supposed to be ready for consumption the minute the doors open at that time......Grrrrr. Bad management and bad kitchen prep. Is the chef asleep at the wheel at this location or what? Anway...I opted for the St. Louis ribs and 2-meat trio (brisket and chicken breast were the other 2), with beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Brisket and beans were super yummy, while the ribs were too dry and chewy for my taste. The chicken was o.k., but also a little on the dry side.... I'm sure I would have been in a much better mood if I had gotten my longed-for Baby Backs, but it was what it was.....And, NO comp or perk for a future visit from the manager.....I guess my $10 in gas was wasted on my $30 meal for something I really didn't want to begin with.....Guess Tony Roma's will from now on be getting my consumer dollar. Service from my server Jaime M. was excellent, but most of the other servers as well as the hostesses, seemed grim and not happy to be there. What happened to smiling faces and a warm greeting upon arrival? It was not to be at this location nor the one on Bristol in Costa Mesa.

Always been a huge fan of Famous Daves but last visit I was a bit disappointed. I was there Sunday afternoon was told it was a 40 minute wait...waited for and hour. Had the usual big slab, but the meat was very tough and meat was chewy...Ribs did not have that nice smoke flavor I like seems like they were under cooking the ribs just to keep up with the busy crowd they had When food arrived it was cold.

We stopped by on Friday night, yeah, I know what your saying, Friday is the worst possible night to eat at a place like this, but add to that we had a party of 10 people. But you know what, they did a great job taking care of us, the wait wasn't too bad, the servers did a great job and my drink was never empty, trust me when I say that is a big thing for me. Everyone's food was also very good, cooked to order and had no mistakes, plus everyone left nice and full, that really saying something with my friends. The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to the cost, I know, I know, this is a fancy restaurant and they use quality ingredients and everything, but so do a bunch of other places that do not charge $13 for a $6 hamburger.

I will never go back to this place. Lucille's and dickey's BBQ beat this place any day. Everyone that was seated after us got their food before us. Our server was not very attentive, and thought it was more important to play with his friends in the back rather than see if his tables needed anything. Also the food was cold probably because it had been sitting in the back. If your looking for good food and service this is definitely not the place to go! Parking is also a hassle.

First timer at Famous Dave's...it was great! I would say this might be the best BBQ in SoCal, at least based on what I've eaten. I came during lunch time so there was no wait for a table. The place looked small from the outside but it was much bigger inside. It's clean and has an outdoorsy kind of feel to it. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, but not overbearing, and helpful. The manager was nice enough to come to my table and ask if we were first timers. Since I was, I got a gift bag that had of bottle of their BBQ sauce in it...yay me, lol. The Q' was excellent!! I asked our waitress for her recommendation. She said the brisket was really good as well as the sandwiches. So I got a brisket sandwich...SO good. The meat was super tender and juicy and really didn't need sauce at all. But I'm a sauce kind of guy, so I went with the sweet and zesty which was great. The baked beans were my side amd they were really good. The little meat chunks in it was a definite plus. I didn't do the Feast this time because I wasn't too hungry. But that's on my agenda for the next visit. Overall, I'd say Famous Dave's is a must try for anyone who likes or loves BBQ. Great food, great service, cool atmosphere...do yourself a favor and check it out!

First off the food was great, but when I go out to dinner I pay for the whole experience, especially since I can make the things I eat and usually better. However, the reason for my review and 1 star was the service. The last two times we have dined at this restaurant were horrible, but my most recent experience takes the cake. My family and I ate there tonight to enjoy their kids meals deal. We were seated promptly at 6pm and in a nearly empty restaurant, we waited more that 12 minutes for our server, Dez, to even come to our table. However, that was only after I asked someone else to get our server for us. In the meantime a nearby table, most likely in Dez's section, waited awhile as well and ended up walking out. Dez, came out and with a very arrogant attitude said, "I guess they didn't want to eat here." Throughout our dinner, I had to ask for refills and such, and hardly saw Dez. When the bill came it was incorrect as Dez charged us full price for the kids meals. Again I waited for Dez to come back, with no luck. I then took my bill to Ivan at the front of the restaurant and told him I wanted my bill corrected. He took the bill back to Dez and after several minutes, Dez appeared, but paid no mind to our table. I then asked Ivan to speak to the manager, Christopher Martin. After nearly 5 minutes, Dez returned with my bill, and I walked with her to the register so I could get it back promptly. Still no manager had shown up. I left the table with my family and spoke to another server, Alexa, who was very gracious and apologetic, despite getting all of my frustration. Ivan returned to the front of the restaurant and when I asked where the manager was, Ivan stated he was really busy in the back doing paperwork. Ivan then walked away with a pompous and arrogant attitude. No wonder the servers treat the customers the way they do, there is no accountability from management. I have never in my life been told the manager is too busy to come and listen to a customer. Please take my review into consideration when deciding on where to spend your hard earned dollars, because this establishment does not deserve it!

Not bad. I'd eat here again, but I probably wouldn't crave it in particular.(I'd rather smoke my own ribs). the service was A++ but I thought the meat was a bit dry. I'd rather eat lucilles, but I'd rather pay (and wait) at FD. I went for lunch and had 2 item combo: brisket and spare ribs. Added a salad, that was pretty big. Came with fries and cornbread muffin. Great value for about $12. The waitress in the bar was very attentive.

Why is this not as good as Lucille's, seems to always be busy but I won't be coming back. came with my girlfriend and they ran out of potatoes and was pricey for the cost. service was subpar and they sat us in the corner by the kitchen. I'll stick to Lucille's thank you

Walked in at 1:05 pm and was greeted by a cold non smiling hostess. Though the place was half empty she was set on sitting us near the kitchen and bathroom entrance. She seemed miffed that I didn't want to sit near the noisy kitchen. 13 minutes later our waitress finally shows up. Nice enough and friendly but it took another 10 minutes for her to bring us our drinks and she didn't ask if we were ready to order (which we were) but instead she said I'll be back to take your order and took another 10 minutes. I paid for the drinks and left...no tip.

Love the char grilled chicken sandwich and the "feast"! It is expensive but all BBQ restaurants are expensive from what I've experienced. This is the first time we dined in the restaurant as we usually just pick up "to go", but I think I would stick to pick up only from now on. The server was very slow, we had to follow her with our eyes for her attention as she never came to our table to check on us. *I knocked one star off for their dine in service, but their "to go" service is great and the food is delicious here - 5 stars! Way better than Dickey's BBQ down the street.

Currently, living in Texas, I know what good BBQ is supposed to taste, feel and smell like. 1. Its supposed to taste like smoked meat - not sauce 2. Its not supposed to hurt your tooth. 3. You are supposed to leave smellin like smoke, not the perfume you walked in the door with. I got the pulled pork with mac and cheese and broccoli (had to get my greens in). Yes, the pork was pulled, but it was really dry and hurt my tooth. The broccoli was way raw and not seasoned at all. The macaroni was mad good, and as everyone has stated, the corn muffin was to fight for... (I'm not one to die for anything, but will certainly cut a b**ch for a muffin). One diner with us got the two meat platter with chicken fingers and sausage - well, sausage. He said the chicken fingers were NOT GOOD and much too bready. Not sure how the sausage tasted, all we heard about was the chicken. Another diner with us got all sides. We laughed because she got mostly potatoes, but really, that was the way to go. They should call this place Famous Sides. All the sides weren't too bad (minus the broccoli)... or even better Famous Corn Muffins.

We used to live right by this location and the service was excellent. We decided to drop by today after a day of shopping to get some food to go and get a gift card for a gift. My husband went to the To Go Section and waited 10 mins...there were 2 bartenders, a manager and a server that passed by him, gave him a look and went about their business. He tried to get the attention of who seem to be the manager but he was busy talking to other servers about their personal lives. My husband decided to go to the hostess in front of the restaurant, who in turn told him he needs to go back to the To Go section. He told the hostess that there was nobody helping him there and the hostess basically just ignored what he said and insisted he go back to the To Go section. Went back to that section and waited another 5 mins and still nobody assisted him. Pretty bad and pretty sad if the service here got sloppy...it would be a disservice to the good food they serve.

This place is way overpriced. I ordered the full rack of "award-winning" ribs for $25. Were they fall-off-the-bone amazing? Not even close. They were a bit dry and didn't even have that much taste in them. I would say they are worth half of what I paid for. With this said, I would not recommend coming here because the prices are out of proportion. I ordered takeout so maybe the dine-in experience would've been different. Still, the meal was not that enjoyable to me on top of being too expensive so this is why I am giving this joint 2 stars. To end on a positive note, the Mac n' Cheese and the Mashed Potatoes were pretty yummy, but not yummy enough for me to give another star. Sorry Famous Dave's, but I got a very generic vibe from the place. However, I see lots of room for improvement.

I really wanted to give this place a better rating. Their food was yummy and they serve a good portion. We ordered the Feast for 2 and it seriously was enough to feed at least 4 people. The service could have been better. They were not super busy but we waited almost 5 minutes for a hostess to show up front and seat us. Several servers walk by but none of them acknowledged us. At least let us know that someone will be with us shortly. Once a hostess arrived she did apologize for the wait and seated us immediately. Our server seemed like he was all over the place and would forget what he was saying. So yea .... We would go back because we did enjoy the food but hopefully the service will be better when we return.

First the cleanliness of this place is not acceptable. Started by having my hand get stuck to a dirty menu. Then I go to get a paper towel off the rack on the table so I can wipe my hand off, and it was covered with old dried out BBQ sauce too. Can you say yuck! Then I look at the wall next to my chair....more splattered BBQ sauce. Now since you generally eat with your hands at a BBQ place, I think having a clean restaurant is an absolute must. But let's move on to the food. I had the brisket with a corn muffin, side of garlic mashed potatoes and fresh fruit. The brisket was good, but nothing to rave about. The garlic mashed potatoes were not edible. They were full of water and about ten cloves of raw garlic in a 1/2 cup serving. The fruit was anything but fresh. So the end result was that I had a good corn muffin, mediocre brisket and the rest went into the trash.

We went for a business dinner and were BLOWN AWAY by the food! My wife had the chicken Caesar salad. She said it was one of the best she has ever had. I had the "Burnt Tips"...not a good name but, man, was it good! It was an appetizer but there was enough food for me for a main dish. I added a marvelous cole slaw to complement the appetizer. For desert, we had the Bread Pudding. It garnered 12 OMG's from my wife (in about five minutes!) and 1 WOW from me. We will definitely go again, when in the area.

We went to Famus Daves to try something new in BBQ. WHen the waiter tells you the tri tip is no longer good, you know you are in for a long meal. I wanted to try the tri tip but I did see other having it and it looked like a very dry piece of meat. We had the two combo platter. The St. Louis ribs were on the fatty side and not much BBQ sauce was used on these. The Hot Link had a different consistancy. IT did not have the snap of a homemade link. The different sauces were ok and the salad was fine. The hostess could have used a shot of caffiene as she was slooooooow and about as happy to see us as a a funeral parlor. Not a good experience.

Our server was very nice and friendly. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed everything we ordered. Delicious homestyle barbeque, we made a great choice. BUT ONE STAR TAKEN AWAY because to get a military discount you're required to wear the uniform to the restaurant. Sorry, that's just stupid. My advice to management is either just ask for ID or don't offer the discount at all. No service member wants to spend a regular day in their uniform just for a freakin' discount. But regardless, I'll be back. That was some gooooood food! :) Ribs were good, many different sauces to choose from; try 'em all! Mac and cheese had a kick to it! Wow, very tasty! Fries were good, but I thought the portion could've been a little bigger. And ooooooooooh that cornbread muffin: lightly sweet, not too dry not too moist, just right! Oh and my alcoholic drink of choice was the Shiner's Punch, very tangy and sweet! Thanks!!

Yesterday, we went here for my husbands birthday. It was not a pleasant visit. First they were out of catfish, but didn't have that posted anywhere, and waited until we had our drinks and chips before saying anything. The brisket was so dried out, that I actually complained and having been in years of hospitality, I rarely complain because I deal with it all day long from customers. Then our waiter said he would bring us more chips at no charge because of them being out of catfish. He did bring more brisket which was clearly much more tender. Our ribs were also very tough, which was clear that they had b een sitting a while. He never brought us more ribs and we didn't eat the ones we had because they were so tough. We left annoyed and hungry and went to Applebees for dessert. I don't think we will be returning. Great disappointment.

This location does not meet the standard for this franchise. Food was ok at best. Meat was borderline tender. For $50 I would expect the potatoes to have some flavor. I'm a fan of famous Dave's. Just not this one.

This was our time at Famous Dave's. We are quite picky about BBQ, and typically not fans of commercialized BBQ. As for service: From the moment we arrived, service was fantastic. After telling our server that it was our first visit, she took the time to lay out all of the sauces on a plate, along with a few chips to try them. Then the manager came over to welcome us and gave us a bottle of their BBQ sauce. Great start!!! Food came out rather fast, almost too fast. However, understanding that this is BBQ, food is typically already cooked and simply needs to be plated. Having said that, the meats were juicy -- not dry at all. Brisket, ribs and chopped pork (although we prefer pulled pork), were all adequate. The sides were also good. Overall, we had a great experience. Although it is certainly commercial BBQ we were pleasantly surprised and will come back again.

One of my favorite places to eat by far - and you can EAT LIKE A PIG...well at least there are signs on the walls that says you can, lol. Looking for BBQ, this is the place...look no where else! I try to bring out my carnivore side as much as possible here, but the fact remains - their service is outstanding. I celebrated my birthday dinner here a year ago, and forgot my discount print out. Normal policy is that you must have a print out, not show the email on your phone, but have no fear, the manager was near...he went well out of his way to accept the mobile email, and hooked us up additional bday ice cream! The staff/servers work as a team to help you out and get things to your table asap, and I love when the yell FEAST, FEAST, FEAST!!! When you order the FEAST meal, you will see what I'm talking about. They have 6-7 different BBQ sauces that will blow you away, and they have a decent selection of brews on tap. TAP, TAP, bring me a beer :) Tip: Order a Mama's Sweet Tea - even if you are a man with hair on your chest, it's a nice refreshing mixed drink (a little fruity but packs a punch) that you must try at least once.

Granted, I don't eat meat anymore, so Famous Dave's isn't a place that I frequent. However, I've been there for happy hour during the week & they have some pretty good deals. All I've had is the $1 fries & a TON of house vino, but that was enough to fill me up. LOL They have mini BBQ beef & chicken sandwiches for $1 & a few different types of beers on tap (also @ a discounted price) during happy hour. The bartender who took care of me & my friends was funny, friendly, and she kept my wine glass full. What more could I ask for? I definitely plan to return.

I'm not a BBQ person. I'm kind of anti-baked-beans & coleslaw. My friends, on the other hand, will drive over an hour (in traffic) for famous dave's beef brisket. So, after a long day of moving, I decided a cold beer and some BBQ might hit the spot. And it did...and then some.... The Hog Wild Amber Ale was fantastic, the ribs were just the way I like them, tender, juicy, fall-of-the-bone melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I ate my dinner off the "sauce plate" (the one the waiter uses to explain all the different sauces) because it was the only plate left on the table, and I fell in love with "Devil's spit". I put it on everything, including my fries, which made them hands down the most delicious fries I've ever had. An added bonus: there was no wait on a Saturday night for a large party (while, just around the corner at Olive garden the wait looked insane). I'm still not a BBQ person, but famous dave's will always have a special place in my heart...and stomach.

I'm sad to say this is the first bad visit I've ever had at Famous Daves. I ordered the Southside rib tips as per usual. And had to send them back. Half of them were burnt and non-edible. I sit in the bar area and was the only one seated when I came in. But the bartender / waitress, somehow kept forgetting about me. When she got other customers, she failed to see that I will still there. The customers in the booth behind mines got to order first and got there to go boxes way before I did. Even though I was there like 10 minutes before them. And asked for my boxes before they did. The busboy had to bring my to go boxes and bag. The only time she hurried up to come to me was to bring me my check. I usually tip 20% or more since I was a waitress through college( I understand) but only left 10% do to the bad service. It'll be a minute before I come back to Famous Daves. Hopefully, next time we'll be much better.

We ordered ribs and chicken for a party last Saturday.Nothing but compliments! Thank You for the great service too.I recently stopped eating meat so I was tortured smelling the deliciousness! Thankfully,we had seafood as well at the party.

Went last night and Nickie our waitress was wonderful. She was always a step before we asked. The food was great. Hubby had rib tips and I had rib and chicken combo. Ribs feel off the bones. I have been hungry for bbq and have tried many places by my house .. but for me.. it is worth the drive, even after a hard day at work

Took a client from out town last night. The food was very good like always the service was a little slow at first and it took about 5 minutes for our server to come to our table after we were seated. he had just gotten slammed with a big party in addition to us and and another party at the same time. He more than made up for it when our food arrived. Two in the party order brisket and he noticed it was a bit fatty. He brought it to the table explained it was too fatty for his liking and had already ordered replacements but left the original order for us as well. I cant remember when a server was so honest and proactive. LUKE you are a credit to your profession, thank you.

I've been to Dave's several times and the food was always great. The atmosphere is very nice for a date or just dinner with the family, friends, co-worker, etc. Although I ordered a large amount of food for a church picnic and when I tasted the rib tips they where on the salty side. Well, after the event I called Dave's. They not only offered and apology but gave me gift cards above what I paid for the the meat that was over seasoned. Now that's service. I recommend Dave's anytime day or night.

My mother was born and raised in the south, and lived there for about 30 years. So when she decided to come here for her birthday, we were all a bit nervous, as my mom has a slight reputation for tearing apart southern restaurants for their less-than-southern meals. Fortunately for Famous Dave's, my mother was a happy camper, and had very little negative things to say. My sister, not so much. Both my sister and I had ordered the slider buddies (or something like that), and all in all it was okay. The hot link wasn't hot and was pretty dry, the chicken was meh, and the brisket and pork were pretty delicious. My sister scoffed at each of hers and claimed that each sandwich was dry...but she's a pretty picky eater. I tried the award winning famous baked beans...not impressed, really. The mac and cheese had a vomity aftertaste, so I just moved it to the side after a few hopeful bites. My dad's order of mac and cheese had an apple in it...what? Yeah, but they were kind enough to replace it, and even gave him an order of the apples on the house. Their sauces are pretty good, I personally preferred the Georgia Mustard. The pickles, ehhh, not a fan. My mom liked her meal, the brisket, and said it was good, but didn't rave about it. My dad tried the ribs and again, good, but not great. Our server was polite and on top of things, but it's pretty loud so sometimes he was hard to hear. It's hard for my family to give a "fair" rating to some of the southern restaurants around Rancho as we definitely have a higher standard of southern food than most people in this town given our roots, but Famous Dave's does an okay job...but personally I think my Mom's recipes could kick his famous butt.

Food is bomb, service is amazing, and it's a really fun environment. Makes you feel like your in a BBQ joint in Memphis Tenessee. Hubby & I always order the same thing. Beast Feast & Mama's sweet tea. The manager really went out of his way last month when we had a dinner party for my hubby & made sure we were well taken care of. They have like 7 different bbq sauces to choose from. Prices are a little bit above average, but totally worth it. Oh, and try the wings- they prepare them differently. I don't know what they do to them, but they are finger lickin good!

Dare I say, better than Texas barbeque? Or was I just delusionally hungry? We sat down (I had a beer), and got down to business. Ordered a Dave's Famous All-American BBQ Feast. A full slab of St. Louis-style spareribs, a whole chicken, half pound of Texas beef brisket, coleslaw, famous fries, Wilbur beans, four corn-on-the-cob, and four corn bread muffins. SERVED ON A GARBAGE CAN LID! It's finger lickin good. And they have locations in random places in California, so I'll definitely be back.

Another place that that is hyped up by the decor rather than the food. The service is decent as well, as I ran into no problems. For a party of 6 and 3 kids we went with one of the "Feasts" which is a pretty decent amount of food. the server yells "FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! " while bringing your food is different, but then is kinda annoying after you hear it a few times. The food wasn't magnificent.... I think I over hyped the food, so I guess I disappointed myself. At least they have a bunch of different sauces to try....

Excellent BBQ for a decent price. We always have a good experience when we come here. Service is a little slow at times, but overall a good place to bring the family and eat. The ribs are delicious, the brisket is tasty and my daughter can't get enough of the cornbread muffins. Their sauces are for sale at a comparable price to store brands, and I have a bottle of the Devils Spit in my fridge at home.

  • Mel B.

Simply put, one of the most authentic barbeque restaurants around, but not my favorite. Let's start with their hallmark, St Louis ribs; tasty, but too chewy and I don't like falling off the bone style, Burnt Tips, interesting, but not as good as their regular Brisket. Fun place, but noise is over the top and the servers yelling Feast each time they serve one, it's what made Chucky Cheese famous. Lucilies, is better overall, but Famous Dave's has the slightest of edge in some food items.

Spectacular service & eating environment! Food is a little pricey and maybe because I'm nearing BBQ fatigue (this was my 4th BBQ spot in 3 weeks), so I thought the food was just okay. We ordered the Half feast ($40) and it was more than enough food for us (2 guys, 1 gal - we weren't SUPER hungry though). Sad that I couldn't swipe out the fries for a different side, but they let you choose 2 sides of your choice & you get fries, 2 cornbread muffins, 2 corn on the cob & the meats. They have 5 different specialty sauce, and they bring you some complimentary chips to try out the sauce. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about all things BBQ related & occasionally all the servers will bust out in a chant. Happy hour @ the bar M-Fri 4pm-7pm. They have food & drink specials. We didn't sit at the bar, but one of our servers just suggested that we order our drinks at the bar so we can pay happy hour prices. Parking in a lot shared with a few other businesses. Place seems to be pretty poppin' but we didn't have to wait a very long time for a table on Friday night around 6:30-ish. Super close to Ontario Mills so you can get your shopping on before or after your meal!

This place is sort of like a rival to Lucille's. The difference however is that the sauces served aren't overbearingly sweet. Our waiter was pretty cool and the feast easily satisfied the group I was with, myself included. I approve.

They got some good margarita and ok mac n cheese. If i ever have to come back here, i wont be here for barbeque but for the margarita that isnt water down at all!! Rib is unale to cut, brisket is just hawaiian spam quality meat. Chips are good. Shame to be called BBQ restaurant....

I'd never heard of this place before the other evening when my rather large group of friends decided they wanted BBQ, and that we were going all the way out to rancho to get it. The hoot and hollered and raved about this place the entire way there. We got there about 9 pm on a Friday evening, and was kinda surprised to find a relatively empty restaurant. They seated our group of 8 immediately. Our waiter was funny, polite, and patient with our large group. We decided to order the feast ($69.99) and some wings with Wilbur's revenge sauce. They'll put about 6 BBQ sauces in front of you with your meal. I was interested in the sauce called Devil's Spit because with a name ike that it as to be spicy right? Not one bit. I ended up sticking with their most popular sauce (Rich and Sassy). I was a bit disappointed with Wilbur's revenge wings. They just weren't that spicy. Overall, the food was cooked well, the meat fell off the bones and the cornbread was tasty. However, the mac and cheese was bland (it had more flavor with a drizzle of BBQ sauce). And I was disappointed with the sauces. I like to have a little kick (of heat) in my meals, and this place just didn't have it.

Beats Lucille's! Love the tips and the different choices of BBQ sauces. It was our first time, wait was a bit long but within the quoted wait time. Food was great and quick to come out of the kitchen. Way too much food for one person.

Yumm!!!! I love their Texas Beef Brisket, that is my favorite thing to order. The layout of the restaurant sucks though, they need more booths. Oh well, their BBQ is amazing!!!

Yum. I got "Dave's Sassy BBQ Salad" 5 days ago and I can't stop thinking about it! I got it with the beef brisket and MMM MMM DELICIOUS. Nice, tender beef brisket mixed in with bacon, cheese, tomatoes. Yum. I of course felt the need to add more sauce since the other sauces they had were delicious as well. The chips they bring out early on to sample their differences sauces with were a little soggy from the oil. I was going to give it 4 stars but I just added 1 more star because the salad was so good! MMM!! YUM! I'm afraid to go back to try it again because it is a bit hyped up in my mind! I'm confused. Am I reviewing the salad or the restaurant. I don't know anymore!

This place is comparable to Chili's, TGI Fridays and Applebees. While I always enjoy the company of friends, especially friends that I don't see often, I think I like the atmosphere and environment better at Chili's. I had never heard of this place before until a friend suggested that we had our mini high school reunion get together here. We met up here recently for a late lunch/early dinner. At 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant looked empty. I'm not sure if that's normal for a Saturday afternoon or whatever. But anyway, the customer service was pretty good. Our server put up with our weird sense of humor and seemed genuinely ok, laughing at our jokes. While I do like American BBQ food, I wasn't overly impressed with the food here. Probably because it's very similar to Chili's, TGI Fridays and Applebees in some ways. I wasn't able to photograph all the food that were ordered, and I can't remember the names to the plates that I did photograph.

Wife and I are fans of the beef brisket. Plus I always make sure to order fries so I can use plenty of sauce. The Devil's Pit sauce is spicy and delicious. On the way back from Vegas, we usually stop for cornbread.

Coming to Famous Dave's for Father's Day is quickly becoming an annual tradition in my family. One that I'm pretty thrilled about too. I'm going to go against all the San Diegans' out there and say that Famous Dave's is better than Phil's BBQ. Yep I said it! Private message me away. FD has more BBQ sauces, super moist cornbread and I like that their sauce isn't too sweet. In fact I'm trying to think of something that I don't like about this place and I'm coming up empty. I just wish once I had room for dessert. If you want me to come to your shindig just mention "famous daves".

At the spur of the moment, I went for the 1st time the day after July 4th. I felt like having ribs, which I very, very rarely eat & I figured it wouldn't be crowded since many people probably did their own BBQ on the 4th & I was right...it wasn't crowded. I tried the 1/2 slab of St. Louis style ribs w/ the corn muffin, dirty rice, and mac & cheese. It costed $17.99. There's 5 BBQ sauces to choose from & I chose Devil's Spit, which is a 3 out of 5 rating in terms of hotness. I think the price was a little much because the 2 sides were in small bowls & since the ribs were pork and not not big beef ribs, there's not that much meat on them. The BBQ sauce was OK. It tasted like something was missing, like the true smoke flavor. The sauce wasn't that hot. I liked the sweetness of the corn muffin. The dirty rice was OK, could have been more flavorful & the mac & cheese, which had jalapeno flavoring had a little too much goopy cheese sauce, but the flavor was pretty good. The meal shouldn't have been more than $12. I also tried the boneless buffalo wings with the regular buffalo sauce & it was good. The interior is designed like you're halfway between inside & outside a cabin & a backyard country cookout area. The waitress introduced herself as "Famous Kelly" & called me "Hon" throughout the time. I know I've only been here once & I normally like to visit a place at least a few times before writing a review, but I think it's important to sometimes give a 1st impression review as well. Overall, I want to give them about 3.5 stars & I'll probably return, in which I'll order something else. I see they have a turkey burger, so maybe I'll try that next time.

Great food !decently prised ,some friends told us they got a free bbq sauce bottle their first time and I went twice but non of those times did I get one:/ .so...that sucked lol...but other than that the food is great,I recoment the platter for 2 people, and for desert get the pudding you will be back for more.

12.12.10: Delicious Ribs and Ribs! I ordered the ribs and tri-tip and lets just say that we didn't really need to use any of their sauces. Its pretty neat that they have about six of them and they give you chips to try them with. Plus our waitress was very helpful. My food was really really good. The meat fell off right off the bone and I couldn't believe it. So overall I enjoyed my ribs, and I actually came back another time with the bf. Overall its pretty good bbq!

I tasted the bbq burger- honestly I am unsure what exactly was in it but it was SO much yummy beef & pork doused with sauces and cheese. IT WAS GREAT. And I was able to have it with a TASTY, perfectly cooked baked potato.

Famous Dave's continues to amaze. The quality of the food is incredible (the pork ribs are so tender that the meat separates from the bone so easily that the bones leave no hint that they ever contained meat), the portions are huge (more about that later), everyone who has served us has been charming and attentive, the restaurant has a nice down home barbecue joint feel to it, and the meals have been inexpensive. For less than $50, my son and I got 20 meaty St. Louis pork ribs (I challenge anyone to eat all of the side dishes and more than seven of the ribs in one sitting), 2 corn on the cob, succulent green beans, Mac and Cheese, 2 corn bread, a mountain of french fries and all of the strawberry ice tea that we could drink. Although we enjoy dining at Famous Dave's, we do so infrequently to keep from looking like the hogs that so artfully are barbecued there. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.

Food is good and a nice place..... BUT beware of you credit card!! We went to dinner there and the next morning I got a call from AMEX saying my card was being used for multiple charges all over. This is a card only used for business and the last place used was this restaurant. Assuming that one of the employees scanned the card and sold the number..... I am sure I am not the only one that this has happened to so beware

OMG first time here and loved it, we will be going back on Fathers Day, I had asked my boyfriend where he wanted to go a few days earlier, and as we were having dinner he said okay I want to come here, yes score, I can't wait to have more ribs...

So my husband was craving some BBQ, so he suggested Famous Dave's.... I ordered the Cajun Chicken sandwich with fries and it was great, but my husband wasn't feeling their ribs, he preferred his own and was disappointed with their tri-tip, he actually preferred Lucille's. I personally like the sandwich at Dave's. I'll comeback but I doubt my husband will. Oh I also loved their cornbread and corn!

Yelp, you did me dirty! LOL, I had such high hopes for this place and it smelled delicious outside but we were sadly disappointed. I had the beef brisket with Carolina pork, and mac n cheese, corn on the cob and corn bread on the side. The brisket and pork were oddly sweet, even though I got them dry. They both came on a piece of toasted bread which was actually good. The mac n cheese was weird, it was spicy and had jalapenos in it so be warned! The corn was good....can't really mess that up. I think the star was the cornbread, it was warm, moist and sweet. All in all it was just OK, not something I can justify spending $45.00 on for two people. I can't recommend this place, nor will I be coming back. On the upside, the bathroom was very clean and nice, that is always a plus!

Pretty good. Ordered the 2 meat combo rib tips and tri tip with fries and baked beans. They have a good variety of sauces. For parties 4+ order "The Feast" for plenty of variety. Sweet tea was perfect!

I had wanted to try Famous Daves for a While Now. So sorry I waited so long. I am usually skeptical about National BBQ Chains, but I think this one is Outstanding. I loved the Baby Back Ribs, Tender, Smokey and Juicy. Sauces were Varied and Delicious. I like that the Hot ones weren't that hot and still had a ton of Flavor besides Heat. The Sides really hit me. I had the Mac n Cheese with Bacon and Jalapenos, Wow. I could have eaten a bowl of that as a Main Course. I was very happy with everything served to us. While I will contnue to favor small independant BBQ joints, I will not rule out a Stop here once in a while. Why turn your back on Good BBQ.

I came here with the parents and nieces for lunch. I was surprise it wasn't crowded. I haven't been here for awhile as I no longer live in the area. I shared a small version of their feast with the parents which had ribs, chicken, brisket, cornbread, BBQ beans, French fries, and cole slaw. The ribs were clearly the best of all three meats. Chicken and brisket was good. Beans and cornbread were delicious. I'd probably just get the ribs next time. Service was decent.

I have been eating at Famous Dave's in various locations around the country for about 15 years. The service has always been prompt and the food has always been hot. Unfortunately this was not the case at this location, I hope this is a heads up to the manager.

The say great writers write there best work while motivated. I say when I'm angry my best work gets done. This Famous Dave's in Rancho is a complete disaster/ disappointment to the franchise. There staff is unfriendly and unmovitated to the famous dave experience that I have encountered from three other locations. When people order "The Feast." Everyone is excited and motivated to scream out "Feast, Feast, Feast.!!" But not here there staff whispers it My 3 yr old was literally was louder then there servers were. There is no team work at all no family effort I have grown to love and enjoy when I eat at any famous Dave's restaurant. If I wanted a cold blooded experience I would have went to a Denny's First off let me start about the wait time which wasn't that bad for my party size of 11. But waiting outside in the patio area you would think the could dish out a little money for some heaters nope. Not this place. We finally get called in to be seated and get our table in one of the most busiest and congested part of the restaurant. Right near the bar and kitchen. As if it made matters worse our server Joshua L. Was very defensive and was one of the most inattentive servers I have ever encountered. During my drink order i specifically asked for no ice in my sons drink because he has been a little sick he still brought the drink with ice when I corrected the order he said to me "oh that's ok there's just a little ice in there." He continued to make an excuse for his mistake by blaming the soda mechanism and says " when the sodas come out of the tap there hot." Next he also forgot several of my guest drink order and brought the wrong drinks. It shouldn't be that hard to bring soda and water. As we all placed our order I made it very easy for him and told him EXACTLY what orders I wanted and how I wanted them. When two of my guest order there sides of Corn on the cob he politely interrupted me and said they are no longer serving corn on the cob because it was "Too Hard." And several other tables have complained and returned that side dish. So my guest had to choose from another side which isn't a big deal. Well now comes the big deal as everyone is finally getting there Meals my special family guest had to wait an additional 15 for there feast. And it wasn't even a full feast it was a feast for two. And here's the icing on the cake my son who's drink order was messed up from the beginning never received his food until everyone else in my party was already done eating. Joshua's Lack of servitude lead my 3 yr old to eat last and not only that when his food finally arrived the order was still wrong. I can except my own personal order not being correct or even being served at the same time as everyone else's but you don't do that to children. And what's worse is that I couldn't ask anyone else for help because no one there worked as a team. How do you forget a order of Chicken Strips.? How do you not ask everyone how's everyone doing? How do you not check your receipt one more time to make sure you haven't forgot a meal? How do you not see one of your customers with no food and not fix the problem before its brought up to you.? Joshua's answer. "Sorry seems your sons order was sent to another table for someone else to enjoy." After the end of our meal our server Joshua finally asked from across the room in the bar area " Oh I forgot to ask you before you ordered are you guys going to be splitting the check.? Because I haven't done it." How embarrassing for him to say such a thing from across the room in front of my guest. I am not only angry I am truly sadden and disappointed at the level of service this establishment has. Once again if I wanted to wait an hour and a half for rude extremel unprofessionalism service I would have went to I.H.O.P. How dare this place be called a Famous Dave's. It will be an extremely long time before I decided to visit this place again. I guess it's back to Lucile's Smokehouse for me and my family.

  • Leeanna C.

Sooooo slow in the to-go area. Holy smokes! I don't even know why! I'll be the only one standing there for a small called in order and still... Never changes. Always slow. I mean the foods good. It's never worse than other restaurants within this chain. I always get consistency which all chain restaurants should put out. I just want to make sure everyone knows how slow to-go is. Sometimes no one will be there in the area and waiters by the bar will see you standing there and not say a word. You are like a ghost to them. I stopped going for that reason. I hate being ignored.

This place wasn't what I taught it was. I heard all this hype about this place but ended up very disappointed. The waitress service was one of the worst I've had. It almost felt like she didn't like hispanics. Never got a refill and my food was dry. To the point where every bite needed BBQ sauce. Maybe it was a first time bad experience but I don't know if I would want to try this place out again.

Went here for lunch with some co-workers two weeks ago. It seemed to be a slow weekday for them, so we were promptly seated when we arrived. Our server, Renee, was very nice and friendly. The place seemed clean. I ordered the lunch combo special with southern rib tips, barbeque chicken, and famous fries. Also had a raspberry lemonade. I thought the food was good. The ribs tasted good, but there was more fat than meat on it. The chicken was better and fairly portioned. Can't remember how the fries were, but they were not bad. Uniformed services receive a 25% discount.

This is our go-to BBQ place. The wings are great, and hubby and I always share the full rack. Price is decent considering what you get. If we are anywhere near this place (we currently live in LA, we go! Way better than the LBC location.

Awesome food I wish I could give it 5 stars but my friend had to flag down a waitress in the beginning to take our order and so forth so I had to dock a star. I like this place actually more than Lucille's and would definitely recommend

Came here on Saturday with the whole family and it hit the spot!! Best BBQ place I've been to. Me and my family ordered the All American Feast with a half rack of ribs on the side.Everything came out so delicious! Our waiter was very attentive and respectful with a pretty dope spaniard mustache Very clean (the restaurant not your face lol) with a good family vibe. Great for hanging out with friends or with family. Can't wait to go back for more!

Got a take out order from Famous Dave's because it's within a short walking distance from the hotel I was staying. I picked 1/3 slab of St Louis Style spare ribs + fresh sweet corn and creamy coleslaw + corn bread. The ribs were quite good and the portion was definitely not too small. Sweet corn was a whole kernel of corn, so that was nice (except it wasn't as sweet as I had hope). The guy at the cashier was nice, but the wait time for the food was a bit slow. Overall, good meal..it wasn't anything like "wow, I have gotta go there again" but I wouldn't mind grabbing a quick meal to go or sit down for dinner here again.

I used to love this place... but now I'm so disappointed that I won't go back. They no longer offer fresh cut potato chips while you wait for your food and to top it off our waiter couldn't even find all the bbq sauces because they are no longer set per table. She went on a scavenger hunt and only came back with two. Sucks to see a great place go downhill. Hopefully they get it together and bring back the experience to how it used to be.

No wait!!! The best grilled chicken - lemon herb and steamed broccoli! Also on Tuesdays that have kids eat for $1.99. I wouldn't recommend the "Kraft" Mac and cheese though. Prices are fair. Service is pretty good - I think because restaurant is slow.

I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at this location. I think it's time to give Famous Dave's a 5-star, at least on this particular visit 6/10/15. We started our dinner with their house salad which comes with bits of bacon, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato and croutons. It was a very tasty and refreshing salad. We also ordered the new "pineapple rage" medium cut ribs, which have a slight habañero blend for a delicious sweet and spicy taste. My wife thought they were pretty spicy, but they were perfect for me. Finally, we ordered the famous "feast for two" dish that comes served on a trash can lid loaded with goodies. It had a full rack of spare ribs, a whole country roasted chicken, choice of brisket or chopped pork, and a few sides to choose from. We had a group of 3 and we still had plenty of food left over! On top of all the delicious food, we had excellent service. Our waitress Lisa did her job well, but it was Carlos, the host, which made a great impression on my family and I. I can do a whole review based on his kindness and attentiveness to the customers. I just want to let his manager know that he has a great employee in Carlos. He needs to be out on the floor more often, instead of bussing tables, and greeting the customers, which he did very well.

Food was good but service was terrible! We sat for 15 minutes with no greeting from any staff. We went back to the host stand to inquire. It wasn't busy at all. He was apologetic but even then it took another 5 minutes before we saw a server. She was not friendly or helpful. She may have said 4 words to us. We went almost the entire meal without getting drinks refilled. We had to wave someone down to ask for a refill. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Just left this place all of 5 minutes ago with attempt at celebrating pre-Mother's Day. Best to beat the crowd, right? My Mom swears by this place and despite Lucille's being just around the Mulberry bush, it's not "my day" so who am I to rain on her parade and offer suggestions...? What I can definitely attest to is the fact that NONE,....repeat NONNNE of the items on the menu appeared that way when presented before us. This place may as well have been the Las Vegas "Blue Man" show bearing in mind the photo trickery they pulled upon bringing my simple order of brisket nachos to the table. The plate came out prior to all of the other orders but was not only cold but the cheese.....unmelted and the order all in all was flaccid and void of life. As a result, I was required to send it back, not once but TWICE! I can't stand when places try to "fluff" their orders by providing the bear minimum of what you REALLY want (in this case it was brisket and chicken) and add all of the extraneous fu fu items, such as an over-abundance of chips, sour cream, etc. thinking consumers won't know the difference. The fact that it was served cold is absolute proof that my niece could've conjured this mess up within her EZ BAKE oven!!! To add fuel to flame, while awaiting our entrees, the appetizer salads arrived and possessed withered lettuce. The croutons were by far the highlight but the loose, runny and watery ranch dressing was a complete letdown. All in all, I could've had an absolute V8 and been twice as content. "The feast", however, was just that.....A FEAST! I only downed one rib but still, the portions were Flintstone comparable and my parents both seemed to enjoy it. On the other hand, I'm less than impressed by this establishment as a whole and I'm compelled to acknowledge that. In the past, I've witnessed a form of management stop by your table to personally apologize in the event that there was less than pleasant service or the food wasn't quite up to par. NOT THE CASE HERE ^^^. This speaks complete volumes as I see it. The drinks were the only thing served to satisfaction. Perhaps there's some strategy here. Get em' drunk and they'll never remember how poor their food was. Well I'm home, my buzz has worn off and I'm still coherent enough to compose this. For the record, I'm not pleased "Dave" and your level of fame has decreased as I see it. GET IT TOGETHER!. Add the clusterphuk parking fiasco out front and the fact that they don't do call ahead seating or take reservations and yeah.... next time we'll be traveling the extra mile and paying the extra buck to go to Lucille's. That or, slapping our own rack on the grill.

I used to love coming here but it looks like they made the portions smaller on the sandwiches. The service is always great and the food is delicious but the smaller portion size is just plain unacceptable.

Last Saturday went out with the family for a late lunch. We wanted some BBQ, somebody mentioned Lucille's but we decided to go to Famous Dave's. Let me tell you... great call!!! We enjoyed Dave's Feast, what a combination of flavors. The ribs, the corn, the Tri-tip, the chicken was juicy, but my favorite the baked beans. My opinion in a throw-down between Lucile's and Famous Dave's. Lucille is a more sophisticated restaurant with more refined flavors, whilst Famous is more about the flavors and enjoying your meal in a more relaxed environment. My choice for BBQ is Famous Dave's

My mom frequents this place. I came here on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. First, I have to comment Famous Dave's has excellent customer service. We had to wait 20 minutes to get a table, but only because the restaurant has a popular following. Famous Kaylee was on top of everything. The food runner did not bring my mom's additional side of beans, and I don't know who dropped the ball on that, but Famous Kaylee immediately got us the side of beans after my mom raised the problem. The manager, Famous Leo, checked on us immediately after we finished eating. P.S., I love how everyone is Famous so and so at this restaurant. I had the St Louis ribs n meat combo with beef brisket, an additional meat side of hot link, sweet corn, and garlic mashed red potatoes. The ribs were tender and somewhat smokey, but relatively unremarkable. The Texas beef brisket tasted fantastic. It bursted with smokey flavor, and had a more tender consistency throughout than most briskets I've had. The hot link was flavorful and came with a side of mustard based spicy sauce, but the link loses points because it was not hot. Garlic mashed potatoes were outstanding, but the sweet corn tasted like any other I've had. I have ceratainly been to better barbecue restaurants, but I would definitely fine here again and this restaurant to other people.

I love the back yard BBQ atmosphere. The fact that they have a paper towel roll and don't have regular napkins on the table is very clever and only ads to the appeal of feeling like your back at the homestead. Service is good I just wish they had potato salad and that they would serve bigger meat portions considering the price for a meal.

LOUSY SERVICE FROM ANDREW! Worst service ever. The host who sat us was very friendly; we than proceeded to wait about 20 minutes for the lackluster Andrew to finally come to our table to take our order. No one brought us water or drinks beforehand--if you are going to make us wait that long, at least have a busboy bring us water. They weren't even that busy. I don't know if this guy was hungover or just tired, but wow, way to reflect an "I just-don't-give-a-sh!t" attitude. From then on it was just error after error that came from an obvious lack of awareness and caring even a little bit about your job (wrong drinks, mistakes on orders). From the time he took our order to well after someone else delivered our meals, we didn't see him again. Some other surly waitress delivered our meals, they gave me the wrong side, so instead of just taking the side back to the kitchen, she took my whole plate and 15 minutes later brought my COLD meal back with the correct side. All this time, still no sign of Andrew. When we asked her for butter, she snarled that she would have our waiter bring it to us....great...still waiting....waiting. Normally you can at least ask another server for help, or to at least find your waiter. But all the servers here seemed to have their horse blinders on and never made eye contact or looked in the direction of your table. We tried to flag someone down twice, only to be ignored. Again, they were not that busy. Finally he arrives with our butter. Disappears again until we are totally done, then comes back to check how our meal was. The food was ok. The mac and cheese was flavorless. But based on the service and overall vibe of disregard from the wait staff, we won't be back.

So I went in on December 8, 2014 and went to have dinner for my friends birthday as we got in it was not busy there was no host our server to greet us or put our names down. it took them nearly 10 minutes to come to the front and finally put our names down.. As the hostess came up he said there shortstaffed that's going to be a slow process tonight which as a customer you don't want to hear you're supposed to have that blocked off from anybody hearing that you guys are slow or that you have less employees that are working today or what have you. So we put her name down and I went to the bar and they have great happy hour specials I got the sweet mama punch for almost $6.48 which is a cheap price for a drink I loved it. Finally 20 minutes passed by on top of the ten minutes we waited for hostess to get our names down and finally got seated and our server took an additional 5 to 10 minutes if that to come to our table just even get our drinks but we were finally ready to order at the same time because of how long we waited. So I went ahead and ordered the All-American feast which feeds about 6 to 8 people good portion sizes I also got a Caesar salad light dressing and of course some baked potato soups with bacon and as we got our soups it was almost to the point of room temperature soup. I wanted to tell out server but took a while for her to come back. So I just voiced my opinion when she finally showed up.. thinking she would take it away or give us a new one and she did offer us a new one but like I said took her a while and that we just kept eating it thinking maybe some comps for the soups at least but nothing at the end of our check. We also got our All-American feast and I don't know how long the food was sitting in the back but our food was also warm besides the beans being hot and the bread was kind of hard and it wasn't that pleasant this time it was very mediocre maybe less than mediocre. We were there for nearly almost 2 hours and a top it off It wasn't even that busy inside. I t can count the tables on two hands maybe less and just a timely manner of things from refills to drinks to our food being cold or warm to just you know not experiencing what we experienced before was just a downfall

If I could give a rating of 0 stars I would........ I was excited to go to Famous Dave's for the first time for a coworker's birthday party and when I got the food I was so disappointed... The waiter took forever and I got my food to go... He was a little guy with a ponytail on top of his head and his whiskers like he was a pirate horrible horrible horrible waiter I ordered certain things and did not even receive them I was so irritated and ready to go that I just left without checking my bag... I've been when I got home come to find out didn't get the right order called and spoke to the manager Chris... That's weird they said that they made the brownie well I did not receive that Brown I got a hot link instead so disappointing never will go back ever ever ever ever again!!!!

Never again unless I order the corn bread to go. Only good thing about meal. Service was horrible my waitress was spaced out all she cared about was which tables were hers. Beware** of the sweet tea unless your goal is instant diabetes. I ordered the rib n meat comb. Mac & cheese was like eating at home town buffet horrible very un southern, brisket was drier then wood dust, had to soak the meat in bbq sauce, ribs were faulty highly disappointed, barely any meat on top of mediocre taste. Just moved to the area everyone suggested this place - I question their tastebuds now. Have traveled to south numerous occasions and have relatives from the south, famous daves is a dud. Better off asking some of your cultural friends to bbq for you & to bring the corn bread to the party. SMH. Id go to Phil's bbq before going here and I rank Phil's a 7 out of 10 and one being the highest.

I've eaten at the Famous Dave's in TN before, and it was much better. The service was a little poor, the other servers carrying food out to the tables shouting "feast" was cool but they did it in a manner that they absolutely hated their jobs. The booths were small, and the food tasted blan and not as hot as it should be. Don't think I will be eating here agin. Ate: Brisket, Fries, and Mac & Cheese *** Do not get the mac & cheese, its horrible.

Their feast for one is perfect for just two people. I am a huge fan of the BBQ nachos! They keep bringing me back in! Keep in mind the proportions are huge! Sometimes the food can be a but on the cold side, if it is, just tell your waiter and they will be very willing to fix the problem; they are very nice there.

Great food! Great quality! Great servers! Feaaast... Feaaastttt.... Feaaastttt.... Feaaasssstttt !!! I Love it! They have good variety of sauces that satisfy any taste from a hot hot one to a sweet BBQ one. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is crazy about ribs! I can't wait to go there again and again!!!!

Was excited to try this place because it was recommended by a co-worker. I ordered the full rack of ribs with no sauce with Corn, Mac 'n Cheese, and also a side of broccoli. So the ribs were salty, overcooked (burnt) and dry. The corn and mac 'n cheese were alright. I never got my corn bread. The ribs were so bad that I only choked down three and left them remaining 9.

  • Randy P.

I had the brisket sandwich and the beef chunks were fatty (horrible in a sandwich). The portion size of the fries was very sad--I would think the waitress would've noticed how value-poor the plate appeared, but she didn't. Saying you are getting some of their hell-fire pickles and then giving you 3 sorry miniature slices isn't going to catch your attention. Nothing to bring me back.

I called in an order last night for pick-up and to my dismay learned that my husband paid way more for the bill than what I calculated from an online menu. Before ordering, I googled the restaurant at this location and a menu link was listed for viewmenu.com . Two of the three different items I ordered were actually higher-priced. The biggest discrepancy was for the 1/2 slab rib dinner. We were charged around $7 more than what was listed on the online menu. This especially stung when I saw the ribs...6 SMALL, NOT OVERLY MEATY RIBS!! In my opinion, a total rip-off. When I called to complain, I was told the internet pricing was for the Midwest and that California prices were higher. Then the manager told me that the price differences on the online menu was a problem that they were aware of and was being worked on. What does that mean? We are in 2015 and an online menu for a national company can't be corrected in a quick manner? I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant manager when she did not even attempt to make any amends...especially knowing the fact there is an ongoing problem. Aside from the chili I ordered, the rest of the food was NOT WORTH the price...nor the headache!

This is my must have BBQ if I am in the area. I discovered it several years ago while staying in Ontario and I have been a fan ever since. Everything here is very good and I always order the feast! It has everything you could dream of! The ribs, chicken, pulled pork, fries, cole slaw (amazing), beans and corn bread. Get ready to eat! The service here is great and friendly. There is a huge lot for parking so no need to worry. Enjoy!

Had been here prior to today about 3 times, and they had all been excellent visits. Waiter would come over and bring some of those fried chips, and show/explain each of the sauces they had available. We had them explain the first time we came here, but not the other two times. They would ask if you need the sauces described to you. Not this time, they didn't even ask.. Now on to the food, we ordered two burgers with fries. Both of them were really really dry, and i'm no food snob or anything like. They kinda seemed re-heated, but I can't know for sure. The fries were cold and stale. I didn't complain or anything, because I mean, it's embarrassing. And because I thought I was the only one not enjoying my burger/fries, I didn't know my wife wasn't liking it either. This makes us not wanna comeback at all, we had 3 good visits and this recent bad one.

We arrived as a family for a dinner together before my moms first chemo treatment. We didn't have an issue with the wait time, it was only 20 minutes for a party of 8 on a Friday night. Our server took our order brought our drinks and we never saw him again. Well he was helping another table as well so we saw him but he never checked us. Our drink glasses say empty for 45 minutes. I had to get up three times to flag people down for basic items, ketchup and BBQ sauce. My brothers order was wrong and my mom was getting upset that her water hadn't been refilled. I finally flagged down sow one and asked for the check and expires our disappointment. We were given some $ off the bill but would have rAther had a good service on this important night together. I understand you can't always have a perfect dinner out but this was bad.

When this location first opened up they were great, I loved their food, but after the first year of them being opened the quality of the food has gone down. Tonight I went there and placed an order of ribs and appetizer and two kids chicken tenders, the lady told me that the food would be ready at 7:30. I waited until 8 o'clock and my food still wasn't done. At 8:15 my food finally came out and was not prepared correctly. The appetizer had tomatoes on it, after I had requested no tomatoes, both of my hotlinks were charred to a crisp, the ribs were dry and tasteless and so were the chicken tenders. This was definitely the last time I visit Famous Daves. If I could rate zero stars I would. If you are craving some good barbecue go to Lucille's off of Foothill at Victoria Gardens.

Left with a bad taste in my mouth, and it's not just from the burnt food! My fiancé and I decided to have dinner here after a shopping trip to Victoria Gardens. In retrospect, we should have gone to Lucille's instead...we ordered a rack of ribs to share with a side of coleslaw and mac and cheese. Our food came rather promptly but they gave us beans instead of the mac and cheese. We told our server and it was fixed immediately. The sides were the smallest sides I have ever seen at a BBQ place! I'm talking smaller than a single side at KFC! Oh well, it's not like they were amazing and left me wanting more... The ribs were only ok. They are St. Louis style ribs so the meat not as tender as baby backs, but they held on to dear life to those bones! I still have pieces in my teeth the morning after and that's after 2 brush/floss sessions! Half of the rack came out so charred that it was like eating charcoal, so we sent them back. They replaced them right away and were much better the second time around...still very tough and chewy though! We asked to see the manager and my fiancé told her about our experience and she just stood there and looked bored out of her mind. My fiancé is a cook and commented on the ribs and how they were extremely tough and she said its because their ribs do not fall off the bone. We've had St Louis style ribs that fell off the bone...and even when they don't, at least they eat off the bone! She was very rude and did not care about our feedback at all. We left extremely unsatisfied and not just with the food. All in all, I would avoid like the plague! Awful food, awful service.

We have eaten at this Famous Dave's plenty of times, and enjoyed it. That was NOT the case this time around. My boyfriend and I first got to the restaurant at about 8:30 and there was no host at the front to seat us for approximately 10minutes. I finally walked into the bar to ask if the bar was open seating and I encountered a waitress and bus boy who looked at me with disgust since I interrupted their conversation. I was told by the waitress to just go back up front since the bar was not open seating. My boyfriend had managed to wave down a host and we were seated in the bar area. Immediately after we were seated the rude waitress came up behind with two menus and rolled her eyes at me when she saw that I had been seated. As we sat down we asked about the drink specials for happy hour since there were no prices and were given an exasperated look by our waitress and were told about them, but not told that happy hour stopped at 7pm for the drinks, so I ordered a Mai Tai and my boyfriend ordered a Hangar 24 Orange Wheat. When we got the drinks, the Hangar was completely flat and had floating particles in it. When we notified our waitress, she did not apologize, she just turned around and asked 'Well, what else do you want?' We told her to take it off the bill because she was so rude. She did not offer a water or soda, but instead turned her back to us. The hostess was finally the one to ask if we needed a water five minutes later when we got out food. As for my Mai Tai it tasted like water and alcohol, and by the time I had gotten half way it just tasted like water. When we got our food (chicken tenders and sliders) it was good, but we only had to sauces out of the 6 they usually have, and they were not the ones we wanted. We could not flag down the waitress and were so exasperated at that point that we just wanted to eat and leave. When we got the bill we saw that my Mai Tai was not at the happy hour price, but the normal price, which is when we realized that the happy hour had ended by the time we ordered, and the waitress didn't inform us. We just paid and left and will not be returning to this Famous Dave's and will only be eating at Lucille's from now on.

My family and I decided to try Famous Dave's for the first time last night for our son's birthday. I wish I could say it was a great experience but unfortunately we were not very happy. The wait to get in was rather long but pretty normal for a busy Saturday night in Rancho. Once we were called in we were seated at a rather small booth. Not much elbow room but we were happy to be seated nonetheless. Our waitress wasn't particularly friendly like you would find in many other establishments but she wasn't completely bad either...until later. We ordered the feast which got to our table pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The chicken was great, ribs mediocre, and the brisket was just ok. The sides were pretty good but I thought the corn bread was far too sweet for my taste. Once we were done with our meal we were eager to order dessert but that's when it all went south. We waited, and waited, and waited....finally about an hour later we flagged down the manager and asked for our bill. By this time we were all frustrated since our server, nor any other server for that matter checked in on us. We decided to forego dessert and go somewhere else. When the manager came back with our bill she explained that our server was on break. Fine. Servers must take their breaks. However, they should train their servers to let their tables know they will be on break and that someone else will take care of their needs. That is standard practice in many other establishments. We were completely neglected and made to wait a long time just to get our check. We told the manager no one had been to check on us and she apologized and offered us dessert on the house. We graciously accepted. Our server brought our desserts and apologized to us for not letting us know she was going on break. We are glad that the manager did her best to remedy the situation but I am not sure we will be returning.

Upon arrival I didn't think there was a wait cause I didn't see anyone waiting. But the lady asked for my name and said 5 minute wait which I didn't understand when there was clearly a table right in front. And after waiting we sat down at that same table too!! On top of that we seriously waited another 5 minutes for the waiter to come and order our drinks. Which frustrated me. But the guy was somewhat nice tho. So I give him that. The food was actually great. I don't know about the best ribs ever, but they were decent. The price isn't that much for the amount of food that is given. I prolly will not return here. Because one it's far from me. And two the hostess weren't that nice at all.

Where do I start. Well the food was great as usual, I got the south side rib tips (a favorite) and wife had the salmon because they took steak off the menu weird for a bbq spot anyways the food was good but the service sucked big time. Our waitress Linda didn't ask if we needed refills or came by for that matter I ate my whole meal without getting a refill she even passed by and looked at my empty cup but still did nothing about it. This establishment changed very much and to top it off no more funny shirts. Need to find a new bbq spot or just take my food to go

Sad to say not a good experience this time around. Went in for lunch and the restaurant wasn't that crowded. We were seated right away at a table in the bar area (we enjoy sitting in the bar). Our server was friendly enough, but the bar top had 6-7 guests sitting there, plus three tables and one server was on her own serving EVERYONE. She was stretched too thin. She was slow on drink refills (the Dr Pepper came to our table bad - the syrup was out) and she took forever to bring another drink. We had ordered two appetizers and then three lunch entrees and everything came out at the same time. That is restaurant service 101 .... no bueno. All in all, it was an irritating experience. We have been fans since this location opened and we have now had more than one bad experience here. With so many other choices around Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens, not sure if we would bother to come back here again anytime soon.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Ordered full rack of ribs, fries, and beans. The beans and fries were cold and the ribs were warm. Maybe it was just a bad day but surely not a good first impression.

Terrible experience there today. Booth in bar area that almost strangled me and I am not a big person. Wife's "burnt ends" were nothing but fat and gristle. Not a good bite among them. I have had that in the past and it was good. My meal was a little spicy. I went through my Pepsi about halfway thourgh, but could not get another. Totally unattentive wait staff. Finally gave up and just waited for the check. After he cleared our half done meals and brought the check he said, "oh...would you like a refill?" A little late now... I said I would have loved a refill while I was still eating which just caused him to shrug his shoulder and walk away. And that's what you should do at Famous Dave's....just walk away

Wasnt as good as i was anticipating. The Texas beef was dry (good thing i had sauce! ) the beans seemed like they were from a can :( and i only wished i would have got at least a couple famous daves pickle chips with my beef it would have balanced out the dryness better than more sauce. The corn on the cob was delicious and cooked to perfection!

I have been coming to this restaurant for the past five years and I am saddened to say that the quality of food and customer service has deteriorated. My 2 children asked for Sierra Mist and their drinks lacked syrup. I asked two different servers for exchanges and it took them 10 minutes to bring my kids new drinks. By the time the drinks arrived I tasted them and they where still flat. I told the server whose name was Desiree and she said "at least these taste better"! Since when does Sierra Mist taste like Perrier?? Anyhow corn bread is no longer provided in a muffin style and it's taste is poor compared to before. Brisket was chewy and hard. Overall, this restaurant needs better management perhaps because their service was a lot better compared to last year. For a bill totaling $108.00 I would have expected good customer service at the bare minimum. Employees need more customer service training as well. I will now visit the Long Beach location instead since they have kept everything pretty good.

This will not be a repeat experience. Went here for the FIRST and LAST time last week and to summarize the food situation, everything was nasty. The water was nasty, the buffalo wings were nasty, the fires were nasty, the burger was nasty, and the brisket was nasty I personally got the burger. The buns were not warm, not toasted, nothing. Its as though you went to your local grocery store and got some hamburger buns, opened the package and ate it right there. Burger was unflavorful and boring. Again fries were nasty. My friend got the brisket burger or something. The first time it came out, it came out cold. Honestly, I have seen canned cat food by Friskies that looked just like the brisket on that sandwich. My other friend got the buffalo wings. Never has my head dropped so low after trying food. She seemed to like it but she only ate buffalo wings one other time. The water was obviously from the tap. Now of course it is from the tap at any location that you go to. When I say this was nasty water, I mean the only reason why I got more water is because I needed to wash down my nasty burger. In addition, the only way we got refills was if we asked. I could be spoiled, but most sit down locations should be refiling the water whether you ask or not. Thats at least how its been at every location that I have been to except for this one. To top it all off, everything is EXPENSIVE. The first thing we all thought of was that this place just had really overpriced cafeteria food. Our plates were about $15-$20 per person. Thats really expensive for the garbage we ate, and for the subpar service we received. The only things I remember about the service were asking for refills and extremely slow service. Other than that, I dont remember too much about the service... we were too distracted by the bad food. My friend said that the one in Orange was much better. Honestly, after trying the food at this location, I am not terribly motivated to try another location. I have no idea if it is just this location, or the whole chain. I would highly suggest going to another restaurant in the area unless youre in the mood for bad food.

Decided to enjoy a staff meeting here. The food was excellent, but the customer service was horrible. We were sat in the bar area, where it appeared the bartender was the only one working this area. After taking our (non-alcoholic) drink order, it took 15 minutes to being them, then our food order was wrong and the correct items did not come. Very disappointing. Would go again, but not be sat in the bar area.

FEAST FEAST FEAST! This is yelled as they carry the feast to your table. At first I felt like they were announcing I was a FATA**, however, after receiving the food I realized it was TRULY a feast. There were so many options to choose from, all were great. Atmosphere is fun. I loved the sink outside the bathrooms for cleaning up. I also appreciated that they took the time to introduce all the BBQ sauces they offered, with chips to try them. Dine or Dash? Even if they called out FATA** instead of feast, I would still come back!

I finally came to Famous Dave's after hearing so much about the BBQ. This location is close to the Ontario Mills mall where there are several chain restaurants. I ordered the hot link sandwich ($9.95) and for my side I ordered steamed broccoli. The hot link was HUGE!!! However, the taste was just OK even after using the Rich and Sassy sauce and the Devil's Spit Sauce (Hot). Unfortunately, the bread doesn't allow you to put the link in the bun, and the bun didn't have any taste. In addition, the relish on the side was sour and nasty tasting. Lastly, the broccoli was OK. After all, it was steamed broccoli: 3 Stars. The service was just OK. I ordered take-out and the person at the counter was gone for a long time. In addition, it took 20 min to fill my order. There were not that many people in the restaurant. On the other hand, while I was waiting two other employees did ask me if I had been helped: 3 Stars. Ambiance is OK too. It is a corporate, country feel: 3 Stars. I would like to come back and try some other items, but I will call first if I do take-out. Famous Dave's doesn't skimp on the portions. However, although I have had several female Yelp friends tell me size matters - With food you pervs!!! - Tulsa Rib in Orange and Johnny Rebs (4 locations) has better BBQ - LOL!

Hi is it happy hour? It sure is..great will take two large beers. Bill comes and we get charged regular price. I ask for manager and she tells me...sorry we only honor happy at the bar. Wtf?? Why is your waitress lying? The Manager give us a $6 discount when the happy hour price is $4 each. Hahahaha. Really bad customer service and management. Back to our local bbq spot

Nah. Wouldn't go again. Food was just OK. Came out cool. Service poor. Looked like fast food. Pork was pretty tasty, but not better than I can make at home. I would call this the McDonalds of BBQ. Actually, McDonalds would have been a better choice!

Me and my girlfriend took her dad here for his birthday. Although the food was good (not great) there were several things I did not like. When I called in the lady said they were slow, after informing her it was going to be a party of 6 she insisted we had to have "at least 4 people before we can be seated" If it's slow what does it matter anyways? at any rate, we were seated once we all arrived at 3 wobbly uneven tables pushed together. (I had to place napkins under them to make them sturdy). It took us 10 minutes to get 2 beers and 3 strawberry lemonades. We ordered the family fest and it most certainly fed all 6 of us. the chicken was a little dry but hey, better slightly over cooked then salmonella. We were not informed, however that the refills on the "strawberry lemonade" were a dollar each. I put quotes because there was literally no pieces of strawberries in it. Just a few seeds, not even enough to change the color of the drink! I'd stick to Lucilles BBQ and make sure i'm getting good service with no drawbacks. My suggestion to the company is hire the employees you need, now just the "hot ones" you want. And fix your stupid tables! My niece almost knocked everything off the table just by resting her arms on it!

Decided to check this place out as i am new to the I.E area. The restaurant itself is nice, clean and has friendly staff. We waited about 10 min to be seated for party of 2. For the price that you pay you really don't get much food. The food was ok honestly nothing special. I actually left kinda disappointed hope i would be satisfied and had found a local spot to regularly go to. I felt like the food was way to sweet. The beans, coleslaw and my bbq chicken. I have been to many bbq places a lot that are award winning and have been featured on tv. This place is definitely not a contender. Felt like i could have gotten the same kinda food from any chain restaurant like Claim Jumpers or Lazy dog. Will not be returning here anytime soon.

I have been to several Famous Dave's locations in So Cal and Phoenix. I will never return to the Ontario location. First they carry no baby back ribs. Ok I can deal with that but the pulled or chopped pork was dry and all I could really taste was pepper. I tried to sauce it up but all that came through was pepper. On top of that the pork was piled on a piece of thin white toast. We also asked for two meat combo but was told the only do that with an order of ribs. Wait staff was okay but couldn't handle special request very well. All in all this franchise is giving Famous Dave's a bad reputation.

Not the best Famous Dave's I've been to. Food was bland, service was pretty horrible. Server obviously didn't know how to handle a family with small kids either. Won't be visiting this restaurant again. There's much better BBQ elsewhere in Temecula.

  • Carebear W.

The food was okay but way over priced and the service was terrible. I heard really good things about the bbq; I'm more then disappointed. We waited over a hour to be seated after making reservations and when ordering, they were out of all their promoted side dishes. Our particular waiter was rude, did not check on us for refills or any extra needs. It was a big party so maybe this spot should consider 2 waiters/waitresses in the future. I do feel the service was specifically bad and the worst part of the experience. Had the food not been so ridiculously over priced I probably would have brushed it off and not gave this place a review at all. Something to keep in mind "famous" Dave's!

This place was my favorite place for BBQ. We came here with a party of 8. Place was pretty much empty, though it's took them 20 min to sit us down. We asked for chips but waitress inform us they doth do chips, she also said they ran out of corn. So the chips would be free. She charge us for them. Never came to offer refills on drinks and in the end pick up her tip before we got up or pick up our plates. No I won't be doing the drive back to this place. Service not good nor food. Too bad they did have good BBQ once upon a time.

I only get a need for meat a few times a year but when I do BBQ is best. Real BBQ, not this crap, thats for damn sure. I thought give it a whirl, its dinner time and its a chain we had never been to. It was packed so waited at the bar for a table. When it comes to chains, I have learned just because you have to wait with an annoying beeper doesn't mean it'll be good, it means way too many people fall for this commercial mumbo jumbo, as did we.... My husband smarter than I could just tell it was going to be crap and did the unthinkable for him, only ordered a starter, I was speechless but let him get away with it, which was great so that we didn't leave too much money for this garage. He had the sampler with ribs (horrible and fake), chicken (again fake nuggets out a bag), corn bread (dry and yucky) and onion strings. What a waste of money. I got the bbq brisket with a side of potato strings and salad. The brisket I had my son eat, not great at all and can you believe the potato strings were those tiny potato chips out of the can? They were never a real potato, not cooked, or fried, just a tiny bowl of cold chip stings, unbelievable! The best or only ok part about the dinner here was the 4 house bbq sauces on the table, they were fine, just wish there was something edible to put them on! Save yourself the wait or even better the trip here, it straight sucks!

We cane in during lunch on a Tuesday, took almost 5 minutes just to be greeted then a few more to be seated. Then almost 10 minutes to order our drinks. This was a much slower process than normal. Food was good as always, it's solely the service that dropped them to 3 stars.

This location is nice. Our server was very friendly and on top of things. Our food and drinks were brought out quite quickly. The catfish fingers are great! Drinks are a bit expensive for what i ordered but very tasty. I am sure we will be back as this is the bfs fav place :)

We came here for dinner a few weeks ago with a party of eight and we were pretty impressed. We were actually waiting next door at BJ's for over an hour until we walked over here to check out the wait and they seated us in five minutes!!! The service was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter brought us some chips and showed us all the different sauces and explained the differences, so we could try them out before our meal got to the table. They came over several times to make sure we had everything we needed and our food came out right away. My boyfriend and I shared a combo meal for two and it was PLENTY of food!! They serve it on a trash lid, which is kinda fun. We were both stuffed and had two take home containers full of food, so we had enough for lunch for us both the next day!! They had no problem splitting the check for us for the four couples at the table and brought some ice cream with a sparkler for our newly engaged friends. We had a great time and would go back there the next time we're in the area and craving some BBQ.

If you have ever had real BBQ, you are not going to really like this place. It is just OK. Not bad by any sense of the word but not great either. On the upside, the servers are super nice and the place is clean. I have had BBQ all over the country and Famous Dave's gives small portions of meat and plenty of sides. The corn bread is great but everything else I ate there was just OK. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who knows just how good BBQ can be, but if you are just in the mood for some ribs or a sandwich, it's not bad.

I absolutely love this place because it's a great place to find delicious and quick BBQ. They have 6 different sauce options to choose from. Quick service ALWAYS with a smile and never a complaint about the food. My favorite is the Southside rib tips!

Sat us in the bar. Horrible service from the start. Waitress didnt know happy hour promos. Disappeared a half hour later without a word. Food was ok. Lucilles Bbq is so much better. We will not be back.

Their ribs are good to the bone! They are incredibly good and juicy - and large servings. They also have six sauces that you can choose from. We also tried their burger and it was expensive but worth a try.

For a family of 4, for a "drunch"( family word for dinner and lunch), we had the onion strings, the BBQ salad with pulled pork and the $39.00 Feast for 2 to 3 people. Everything was lip smacking delicious, especially the BBQ beans with chunks of meat, the not too sweet coleslaw and the crispy steak fries. The different sauces on the table( got to try the extra hot Devil's Spit) added to the flavor of the fall -off - the bone spareribs, tender chicken and brisket. I think that this franchise definitely competes with Lucille's BBQ. The decor and humor was fun, especially all the pig paraphernalia, and the funny sayings on the t shirts of the servers. I think one said: "Life is too short to eat bad BBQ." So go to Famous Dave's and eat!!!!

Pretty Damn Good and lots of it. Waiter was on point as was the bartender. We started with the bbq chicken nachos, tasty and plenty of it. For our main course we went with the Feast for 2 which probably could have fed 3 large folk or 4 small folk. Came with choice of ribs, brisket, chicken or pulled pork. we went with the ribs and pork. Very good and messy but thats ok cause they leave you a roll of paper towels. so the mrs. ordered a margarita, peach I believe, strong and tasty. I went with the iced tea and it tasted freshly brewed. No Desert this time, too full. Looking forward to coming back. $$$

The beer was cold. The service was okay. As an "Award Winning" Bar B Que restaurant you would think the food they served would at least be edible. I ordered the Texas Brisket, it was 75% fat and disgusting! I told the server about it, she said she would get it replaced, she came back with the replacement. the replacement was okay but not what I would call "Award Winning ", it still had that leftover taste and just wasn't that good. the first batch of brisket should have never made it past whatever quality control this restaurant has! I won't be back, the two stars are for the Beer and the Service. P.S. There is no way that anyone, with any BBQ experience from Texas would rate this restaurant 5 stars! Anyone rating this place 5 stars is a plant or being paid to give it that high of a rating! It is an insult to compare this place to Texas BBQ, and I'm a California native but at least I respect and admire Texas BBQ!

Was not disappointed. Love Famous Dave's BBQ l. We got the Feast for two (there was 3 of us) and we still needed a box to take home left overs. Ribs, pulled pork, corn on the cob, corn bread. Everything was great. Wait staff was very attentive.

I try to drive down to this place as much as I can. The whole theme and aesthetic of the restaurant is really cool. I always feel welcomed by the staff. The servers are informative and friendly. The food is mouth watering. I gain five pounds every time. I can't stop eating.

Been here a few times and am always satisfied. There can be a wait, especially on weekends but it's not usually too bad. The food is always very good, not really spectacular but still very good. The amount for the price is within reason. If you need to fill that meat void inside you (well that sounded perverted) this is the spot. Service is always quick and friendly.

Our experience here could've turned out really bad...won't go into the details, but the manager named Almas handled the situation immediately! She came and spoke to us, assuring us that we had nothing to be sorry for in reporting our problem we encountered, and apologized profusely. After our dinner came out she came back and said "I just wanted let you know because you stayed here, it tells me you have faith in our restaurant and I want to thank you for that and show my appreciation by taking care of your dinner for you!" It was totally unexpected and very much appreciated. The staff here is very friendly and attentive and this speaks volumes to us since this is one our top 3 favorite restaurants. We will definitely be back to this location.

DISGUSTING!!! No regards for cleanliness. This WAS our favorite place to eat, but after tonight's dinner its not looking like we will be back. To begin, my husband's spoon was dirty. So he set that aside and just used his fork for his beans. Our food was room temperature when it arrived to our table. This is not the first time it happens, but we decided to look past that and enjoy our dinner as best we could. The DEAL BREAKER came when my husband reached the middle of his drink and saw a long hair inside extending down into the bottom of the cup where it coiled along the edge. We had nearly finished the meal and the sight of that and knowing that he had been sucking on someones hair completely disgusted us. We decided not to make a big scene and told our server about it. Our server Desiree giggled and brought us a "new cup". Completely UNACCEPTABLE. She wasn't bothered by it, did not offer an apology, and did not ask how she could remedy the situation. We paid our bill, and left with a sickened feeling. WHAT A WASTE OF A NIGHT.

My first visit Famous Dave's BBQ. We ordered the all American Feast. It came with onion strings for a appetizer. The onion rings the family gave it a 9-10. Main Course: A full slab of St Louis-style Spareribs. 10 A whole Country-Chicken-9-10 Georgia chopped pork--10 Wilbur beans-8 Creamy Coleslaw-10 Corn-10 Corn Bread-10 All and all was a great experience and recommend

My boyfriend choses Famous Daves over Lucille's. I however am split. Famous Dave's has AMAZING ribs with a pretty good amount of meat on it. Their Devil's Spit BBQ sauce is flavorful yet has a nice bite to it of you like spicy. Their beans and cornbread are average. They tend to be busy on the weekends so I suggest ordering to go and picking it up unless you like to wait in long lines. But then again, good things are worth waiting for right? Btw...portions are huge!

I was treated to Famous Dave's for my birthday dinner; it was my first trip there. We had to wait about 20 minutes due to the Friday night crowd. We knew it was busy thanks to the lack of parking spaces and the rows of cars lining up and down the driveway. I ordered the burnt ends with 3 rib bones with a side of Georgia Chopped Pork. For the sides I had the Famous Fries and the Cheesy Mac N' Cheese. I thought that the burnt ends had great flavor but were very tough to chew (I expected that one). The ribs were super meaty and had enough smoke flavor (could have been more); however, were sauced enough that had a great flavor to it. The ribs were very tough and hard to chew. I do like some resistance to bite on ribs and prefer it over the "fall off the bone." The Georgia Chopped Pork was good and was easy to eat. I really liked the fries and the Cheesy Mac N' Cheese was so-so. They offer Pepsi products over Coke so took that as an excuse to drink beer instead. They did not have a good selection of craft or import beers but did have Sam Adams Boston Lager. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. I will definitely visit again.

Despite having to force myself to eat, the food turned out to be pretty good after all. It came out pretty quickly and we were since then finely attended.. Overall, it was the food was great but the service was in the toilet. (Booo to the Hostess with the rude attitude)

I went with a crowd and we ordered the American Feast and that's exactly what it was. Ribs, brisket, baked beans, corn, all of it tasty and tender. The sauces are excellent and they have a large variety and take the time to explain each one. You can try them out with chips to zero in on the one you want for your ribs. The ribs are very good and tender and the beer selection OK. The service is spotty.

I guess I'm not a BBQ type of guy. I've been here twice won't be coming back for a third. Service was good. Link was good. Corn was good. Georgia chooped pork sandwich meh. Chili meh. My thing is everything is sweet, beans, chili, devils spit hot sauce and even my pickles were sweet. I like my savory foods to be savory not sweet. I see barbecue on the food network and I'm like hmmm that looks good then I try this and its sweet. I'll stick to my tacos burgers and steaks. The feast for 2 is actually enough food for 4-5. Unless theres some big eaters in your party. We had the feast for 2 for 4 adults and I ordered the Georgia chopped pork sandwich on the side in case it wasn't going to be enough. We had 3 ribs, beans, cole slaw, fries and cornbread left over. Enough to feed another person that's why I say it feeds 4-5. If you like barbecue then you might like this I'm not qualified to say as I don't.

I'm a fan of bbq in general but for a chain, this place offers top of the line food for a very reasonable price. I've eaten at a few different Famous Dave's (Redding, Ontario, Florence KY) and this one in particular stood out to me because of the waiter. He was very polite and prompt when seating us. Our wait with the beeper was pleasantly shorter than expected as well. He brought us our drinks lickity split, took our order and came back about 10-15 minutes later with hot, delicious food. Throughout our meal he was extremely efficient at refilling our beverages, fulfilling the small requests we had, etc. I do mean EXTREMELY efficient. He didn't even wait long enough for our sodas to get watered down with the ice. Very top notch and we never felt rushed as we continued a longer conversation. I will definitely be back next time I visit Ontario.

Everything we ate was awesome! We had 2 American Feasts for a party of 8 & had plenty of food. Ribs, chicken, brisket, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, corn bread (amazing!). Service had something to be desired. Would have given 5 stars if we didn't have to hunt someone down for drinks, the check, etc. I would definitely come back.

We came here for a family dinner. We ordered the full slab. We are used to going to Lucielles for ribs. Compared to Lucielles Dave's is just ok. The ribs are a little dry and tough and flavor is ok. Service is great! Even the manager came by to see if everything is good. I was really happy with the service.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Me and my family came to this place thinking we were going to get really good service because it's a pricey place. NOT AT ALL! We waited about 10 minutes just to be asked if we been helped and we said no, so there was 5 minutes after that they sat us down ( that's now 15 minute ). They gave us our menus (some older white lady with blonde hair in a pink shirt with a STANK face (stank face means with a stuck up, grouchy , not smiling at all face like she didn't want to be working) ) and walked away, she didn't even say welcome or anything, so we thought she was going to come back or at least another waitress. 30 to 40 minutes pass by (totally not exaggerating) and we still haven't been helped or asked if we wanted drinks or anything ( mind you the same white lady that sat us down keeps walking by with her STANK FACE not suggesting us help, we even made eye contact!!) but no, no help. Finally we got up and asked for the manager and she just looked at us after we told her they have the worst service here, no one offered us drinks or anything and all she had to say was "Oh, Sorry" ... We walked out completely mad! WE WILL NEVER RETURN! Especially after that white older lady with the STANK FACE kept walking by us not offering help. I should've got corporates number and reported them. Oh WAIT! The story goes on, a girl waitress and a guy waitress were arguing in front of everyone and they didn't care if anyone was looking at them, that was so DUMB! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE, I'm not exaggerating about anything!!! ( p.s it was not a busy day, so no excuse as to why they didn't help us)

Had dinner with the family. Chopped barbecue chicken salad was great. But mostly wanted to say thank you to famous Luke for the best service we could've ask for. Especially when dining with the kids. The service really made a difference in the experience for us. Thx Luke.

Ate here for a late lunch today. got seated fairly quick, near the bar area. It was my first time & my boyfriends first time as well & so we decided to order the Feast for 2 for $39.99. We got chicken, ribs, brisket, mac&cheese coleslaw, corn & cornbread muffin. Everything was delicious but my favorite has got to be the chicken, coleslaw and cornbread muffin. The mac&cheese was okay, nothing really special. service was okay, ambience was interesting! i liked how they would yell "feast feast feast" every time someone would order the feast. Our waitress was okay, she wasn't that friendly. I believe a manager also came by to see how we were doing, which is nice. Definitely coming back here.

Service and staff were great (they hit every note except for asking us how the food was) if you don't have high BBQ expectations, or are not looking for melt in your mouth ribs this is the place for you! We were hungry when we walked in, the place was packed and were seated immediately PERFECT! We ordered a full rack but didn't finish a full rack of ribs between the two of us, which says a lot because we like to eat and we love ribs! The flavor arena knocks it out of the park, leave the extra sauces alone. The beans and Mac&cheese also awesome they both should be award winning. But the most important aspect of them all the meat, it was just so chewy and tough to get off the bone. I love ribs that are smoked to the point where the meat just falls from the bone... perfection, but not famous.

After some careful consideration about whether or not to write this review, I have decided that i could not in good conscience keep this to myself any longer. Let me start off by saying that the service at this restaurant was impeccable and the food was "out of this world." My NEW husband is from Spain and he had never had real American "BBQ" before. I'll have you know, he wasn't clamoring for his home country after he tasted your "Rich And Sassy" sauce! Needless to say, my husband Alessandro and I arrived at Famous Rick's with my two twin boys on July 9th to celebrate my 40th birthday. GULP! To be honest, 40 feels really good and I am happier than I have ever been. I told my young(ER) co workers at the Ad Agency I work at that 40 is the new 20 and I meant it. As long as you eat healthy and spend 8 hours a week on the elliptical, you can feel great. Needless to say, my experience at Famous Dave's was less than stellar due to the patrons at the table next to ours. After ordering our drinks (Sweet Mama's Punch for me. I love it!), the twins wanted to go check out the bathroom. They love exploring restaurant bathrooms while we wait for our food. As soon as my twin boys got up from the table, I was appalled to hear the woman at the table next to us say to her husband (who was dressed like he just rolled out of bed) "I thought they would never leave." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was such a rude comment and it was directed at children? They are just kids. The twins had every right to be there to celebrate my birthday. I don't recall a sign on the door that said NO SHIRTS, NO SHOES NO KIDS NO SERVICE. In fact, I saw many high chairs stacked up which made me believe that they encouraged children to dine at the restaurant. I tapped the woman at the table next to us on the shoulder and asked "why would you say something so rude to children? They just are here to celebrate my birthday." The woman denied ever having said anything but as a high powered ad executive with a passion for team building, I am privy to people trying to skirt out of tough situations. I told her that whether or not she will admit to saying it, I will not have anyone talk to children like that, especially my children. Both are good boys and she didn't even have a chance to get to know them before she judged them. When the boys got back from the bathroom, I asked our waiter to escort us to a different table. The waiter obliged and we were able to enjoy the rest of our meal. Southside Rib Tips for me! YUM. Needless to say, although your establishment handled the situation with all the professionalism that I expect from my own employees, until I see some change in the clientele, I can't subject my twins to that atmosphere. As we say in team building, "You must work TOGETHER and not APART." Thanks and please be safe.

We typically go to Lucille's if possible, but Lucille's can run an hour plus wait even on week nights. Decided to try out Famous Dave's. Went around 7:30 on Saturday night, no wait. The hostess said we would be told all about the sauces they are known for when the server comes- that didn't happen, I just tried them with my food, they were all pretty good. I ordered the brisket. It was comparable to tri tip. It was not very moist, a little dry and temperature was just barely warm. Couple that with the room temperature sauces on the table and it was a little cold. Flavor was good. Sides were broccoli and mashed potatoes, both good. Wife had the 1/2 plate of ribs. They were good, great flavor. Also on temperature though, not hot, but just warm. She had corn and mashed potatoes, both good. Service was fast enough, server was friendly. This place screams chain though... Our server was named ... like Jennifer or something. She approached the table and said "Hi Im Famous Jennifer" (playing on the name of the place Famous Dave's)- I felt bad for her. Atmosphere was good, very much like Lucille's. I would rank it a 6/10. Lucille's gets an 8. I used to live in Pasadena and we had Gus' BBQ, thats a 10/10, solid winner. Will I come back? Yep, if in the area and not wanting to wait at Lucille's. Food was average but prices were average too.

Do not eat here. Food is terrible. I returned the brisket. It was cold and chewy. When they brought it back it was warm and chewy. Soooo bad. Service terrible. My wife's pork sandwich was dry. And the place is not cheap. Will never go back. Sounds like all the reviews are spot on. Should have read them before going.

Like I have said in my previous comment our family has been coming to this location for years. We came in yesterday for lunch. We all ordered the lunch combo with two meats and a side. The chopped pork was cold and the brisket had a rancid taste. It was really bad!! Our cornbread was like a brick. It had to have been day old. The other two in our party had ribs and they were like shoe leather. I think they boil them and put bbq sauce and microwave them. So we tell our server and she brings us all chopped pork. It was still cold and someone found a hair in their pork. We called the manager and he brought more pork and ribs and said we didn't have to pay for our meals. It was so bad!!! They no longer serve chicken strips, potato salad and the chips. They didn't have the bbq sauces on the table anymore. You have to ask for it. We will never come to Famous Daves ever again!! I know the gave us all reheated food from the day before.

We use to come to Famous Dave's all the time. Today it was horrible. They served us corn that was hard. Mashed potatoes were cold. Chicken with no BBQ sauce. This place has definitely gone down.

I was a part of a party of over 20 people that arrived an hour and 30 minutes early because of the wait. They took a little over 1 hour and 45 minutes before we were seated. As we were seated, the waitress was nice but she seemed very distracted. We ordered 3 family feasts (about $74.99) per feast. The feast came with 2 rack of ribs, chicken, hot links, brisket, corn, corn bread, potatoes wedges, and one slice of Texas toast per tray. There was enough for everyone but the quality of the bbq and the sauce wasn't the best I've had. I use the sweet and tasty bbq sauce, the Texas sauce was a little too spicy for me. The ribs were a little overcooked. Ribs should be succulent and fall off the bone, not seconds away from beef jerky! The chicken was salty and the brisket was not rare at all. I loved the corn bread!!!! Their corn was somewhat not cooked all the way and not too sweet. I love bbq joints but Famous Dave's should execute their cooking better considering how ridiculous the wait is.

great bbq ! but I felt the chicken and parts of the ribs were dry, but I can't blame them we went there 15 minutes before closing, which they were extremely nice about it.

This was my first visit. And what a horrible experience it was. I have never been to a place with such horrible service! We first went in and was told it would be about a 40 minute wait. That turned out to be longer. We were told that was false because the hostess went on break so the person releasing her gave false information. Ok fine. Mistakes happen... More time passes. We end up asking again what's going on. We got so frustrated we asked if we can just sit outside. We got greeted by our waitress, Renee. Thank God she was amazing. She even offered to find us a table inside. So she did. We walk in to find that people were already there. So she sits us at the bar until the next table frees up. Long story short. We ended up asking to speak with a manager. Which is unacceptable because a manager should have already spoken to us. The manager gave us a generic response that wasn't very reassuring. We finally get seated in perhaps the smallest booth ever. Food was ok but cold. Renee totally was awesome and made sure we were good. Sucks that things that were out of her control made the whole experience horrible. 5 stars for her. 0 stars for the establishment.

The food was very good. Great choice of BBQ sauces. We got there about 2pm on a Monday so there weren't many guests. Got our orders taken pretty quickly but then service just died. Appetizers took forever. One order was screwed up and by the time they fixed it and sent it back out, we were done eating. I actually had to go find someone to come and fill up our drinks. Great food, horrible service.

Definitely a good place for the meat eater. Great ribs & chicken. The service was exceptional considering we had an extremely big party. Would definitely recommend & come again.

I just got back from dinner here and I'm currently suffering from food coma typing up this review and all I can say is...WORTH IT :3 We took a friend there for his birthday since he loves ribs and we've been wanting to try out this place. We got the all American feast for the 3 of us that's meant to feed about 6 people..GO BIG OR GO HOME, SON! It comes with a full rack of ribs, brisket, chicken, 4 corn bread muffins, 6 corn, 2 sides and a shitloada fries! We substituted the chicken for another full rack of ribs (I'm just full of great ideas today! ^^) and that was probably a very good decision on my part so yes I will take all the credits, thank you (: We finished all the ribs but ONE (major sadface) and half the brisket. The ribs were better than Lucielle's in my opinion and the brisket were sooooo soft and juicy. The fries were really good and that's probably one of the reason why I'm laying on my face right now. They also have 6 different types of sauces for you to choose from, so have fun with it and go wild! Since we were there to celebrate a birthday, they came out with a gigantic martini glass filled with ice cream sundae..and we shamelessly stuffed our faces some more. Like I said, worth it! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST!

Feast Feast feast on the BBQ beasts-- Wilbers, pollos, & beef brisquets all present! Beans 4*; corn muffins & cole slaw 5*. Loud, lots of families with young kids. Tons of TVs by Bar for games. Sauce choices bottled on tables. Wait on a Friday night was 30 min. Packed so understandable that drink service & food service was delayed. Free appetizer chips were not brought out until after our beast feast was half way finished. (ran out , per waitress). Feast for 2 can actually serve 3 hungry BMI greater than 30 eaters. I'm trying to stay below obese so I ordered the BBq salad with dry pulled pork (sauce in side) to stay below 600 calories. Hefwz; Sam Adams Oktoberfest draft! 4* (romane & iceberg lettuce mix, the other salad was just iceberg only) 1 lbs. beef tips basket also delish. Burgers patti-- large juicy, perfect. Bread/ bun was normal white kind (meh). I've been here for lunch & since it wasn't so busy -- service was excellent. When busy --- just try & stay in a good mood--- they're trying their best & always smiling/ polite. Eat here for a change in atmosphere. Eat here for dry or wet BBq non-vegetarian dishes. Eat here if you are a hungry hungry hippo. Wait-- they may try to BBq a hippo too.

Loved the burned ends and ribs they are a must try. My son 10 is usually a very picky eater ate all of his pulled pork and fresh made chips. My husband had the brisket it was very tender. We will be ordering from the catering menu for our summer party.

I love Famous Dave's so I took my family for my brother's birthday to this branch. It's a nice and big with lots of tables and seating at the bar. I always order the rib tips appetizer, hot link sausage plate with a choice of 2 side orders and the Robert Palmer (sweet tea). My one complaint was, they do not serve the green beans here. Bummer. That's ok, the garlic mashed red skin potato was a good substitute. After dinner, they brought ice cream with a lighted sparkler in a humongous margarita glass for the birthday boy, how nice!!!

They did improve and Mom wanted to give this place another chance. It is cold in here, so bring a jacket A- We were promptly greeted at the door by a hostess. B- We were quickly escorted to a table. C- Our waiter arrived quickly and gave us menus and took our order. D- It had a very comfortable temperature while inside eating. E- Mom enjoyed her salmon dinner. Mom...just having a great time...warm coffee was her only complaint I'd go back again

FOOD: 3 stars We got the half family FEAST (2-3 ppl) and it was plenty of food. Honestly, the RIBS were ok. They looked like they were made out of plastic. I'm a believer in "fall-off-the-bone" ribs. These suck right on there and had a rubbery consistency. The flavor wasn't bad, though. The BBQ sauce is fantastic - sweet, with a slight kick of spiciness. The CHICKEN was very tender and flavorful. The PULLED PORK was a little dry, but still pretty good. The CORN was warm, soft, and flavorful. The CORNBREAD/MUFFIN was also pretty good. It also came with baked rand and cole slaw but I didn't get to try them. Anyways, at a place like this this ribs are the main attraction and Dave has a thing or two to learn. SERVICE: 5 stars Our waiter was the bomb. Nice, amiable, helpful, funny, accommodating. He was a slightly older, skinny guy with a grey mustache and goatee (the one piece around the mouth haha). Whatever your name is, you're the man. AMBIANCE: 4 stars Nice ambiance. Pleasant and what you would expect from a BBQ joint but nothing particularly special. We sat at a booth and the seats were pretty firm. The feast coming out on an old-school garbage can lid was a creative idea. Having the roll of paper towels hanging by the side easy to pull off was convenient. Ah what the heck, I'll round it up to 4 stars...

First time visitor this past friday! For the price of this place I was hoping to be satisfied...... I will be sticking to Lucilles from here on out. The service was good but the food was just bland and boring. The biggest gripe was the food was cold. The Ribs were cold, the burnt ends were cold and the sausage link was cold. Cold BBQ is the worst BBQ. Even if the food was hot, it wouldn't have came close to Lucilles. Save your money and go there! I wont be back to this place!

Great food, great menu, great service, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Went here for the first time on a Saturday night (one of the busiest times for a restaurant), with my wife and in-laws. I ordered a full rack of ribs with mac & cheese, garlic mashed potatoes and a corn bread muffin ($23.99). My wife ordered the brisket with beans, garlic mash, corn bread muffic and piece of white bread ($14.99). The in-laws ordered the feast for 2 ($39.99 for ribs, brisket, chicken, white bread, corn bread muffins, corn, beans, garlic mash and fries). They had five different bbq sauces on the table, each of which was pretty good. The food was awesome; smokey, meaty, bold. It feels like you're really at a bbq place in Texas but everything was better than every Texas bbq I've been to...besides Rudy's (no bbq place is better than Rudy's). The food came out pretty quick, we never had to ask for drink refills and the server walked us through the important parts of the menu.

Today was the first time I had ever been to Famous Daves and i couldn't say i would ever come back. My family ordered the feast for two which was OK the ribs were good along with the brisket but the sides were too sweet like the cole slaw and baked beans. Corn was not fresh. I ordered the stuffed potato and chose to stuff it with brisket which sounded good but it wasn't. The potato was covered in salt and there was more yellow cheese than brisket. I didn't even finish it. We also ordered a Bloody Mary which also came out to be too spicy. Overall the BBQ was OK but i wouldn't choose to come back.

Admittedly, I'm no BBQ expert. In fact, I'm sort of not a fan of BBQ sauce. So why did I come to a BBQ restaurant? Well, I was in the area with a friend and had my puppy with me, so I needed to find a place with a patio. The hostess said you're not supposed to have dogs on the patio in RC (is this true?), but she asked the manager and he let us in anyway. That was pretty cool of them and my pup really appreciated it! Despite the stupid name, I ordered the BBQ Buddies which was basically slider versions of 4 of their sandwiches. I thought it would be a good way to try a variety of things. It came with brisket, sausage, chicken and pork. I think my favorite was the brisket, but because (with the exception of sausage) they were all shredded meats drenched in the same slightly spicy sauce, they all sort of tasted similar. For my side, I ordered the mac & cheese which was also sort of spicy. Lesson learned - mac & cheese should NOT be spicy. I had a bite of my friend's green beans and they were also vaguely spicy. We agreed that it was kind of weird that everything tasted similar. Service definitely left something to be desired. Our server seemed very uninterested and acted like serving us was some huge chore. DUh, it is a chore, but you get paid to do it, so you should at least pretend to enjoy it. I highly doubt I would be back. Reading these reviews, I'm much likelier to head to Lucille's the next time I want BBQ.

I've been here a few times and I've gotten the 4 mini sandwich samplers and it never disappoints. The spicy bbq sauce is the best. One downside is that they are a bit slow during lunch so I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have a lot of time for lunch.

In the area with many hotels....this place is like a tourist attraction. Food takes a little while to come out but the quality is great. Got the burnt tips with brisket and both were amazing. I ATE THE WHOLE ORDER (yeah i couldn't believe it either)

Okay, first off. Great Food!. I had the Ultimate burger which is a cheeseburger with bacon and chopped sausage. I had the Mac & Cheese which was spicy (never had mac & cheese like that before). Also got the rib-tips which were great. Their signature sauces were also great. The beans were not bad. I paid 14 bucks for the burger, side and pepsi. Second of all, this place is nothing like Lucielle's which a lot of people compare it to. But they are completely different styles. I love both.

OH my! I ate there one time, what really surprised me was the best quality BBQ, was so tender!! then environment was jolly and definitely interesting because there are cool quotes and arts on the walls. To top it off, the service was fast and the servers were really friendly, they even opened up the doors for us. The ribs are amazing, the sauce has perfect texture and taste. I am a meat lover, you must try this place before you die!!!! whooo whoooooooo

I came on a Saturday night at 8:30 with no reservation, I didn't feel like waiting that long so I opt'd to take out instead. The girl who helped me was named MARGOT and she was the absolute sweetest even though the whole place was a busy busy mess. She was so cute and welcoming unlike the other 2 employees I talked to while there. I don't think I need to testify for the food since its pretty well stated that the food is fantastic. I would just like to recognize and give credit to MARGOT for giving absolutely great customer service!!

I don't find this place all that great. Lunch for two was $40 before tip, and didn't include drinks. I find that way over priced for lunch for 2. The food tasted ok but nothing to write home about. For the money I honestly prefer Wood Ranch. Our service was ok. Again, nothing to write home about.

This is the second Famous Dave's that I have been in....the other being the local one for me in Lombard IL. Yes this is a chain. Yes the faux nostalgia can be a bit off putting. Yes the BBQ taste very good. What made this visit special was the wonderful bar specials from 4pm-7pm. Little mini BBQ sliders (pork or chicken) for $1. Catfish Fingers. Rib Tips for $4. $2 drafts. Really tasty food and a great value. Here is some Famous Dave's trivia for you: The founder (Dave Anderson) is of the Ojibwe Indian tribe and headed up the Bureau of Indian Affairs for awhile. Dave is one of the founders of Rainforest Cafe. Dave has an MBA from Harvard. And, most importantly, FD BBQ has won many local and national awards for their BBQ and service. It shows. Famous Dave's gets my vote.

My boyfriend and I love this place! We always go here when we crave some yummy, delicious and tender BBQ meat. Their cornbread is seriously incredible and to die for! With my first two experiences, I would have given it a 5 stars. But the last time I came, the rib was a little try and the cornbread was a bit too hard. The food wasn't really hot or warm either. It was almost cold. My cousin's brisket wasn't as tender as the first time I had it either. Maybe it's because we came in a little late. Nevertheless, the food was still good and the service was great! We made my cousin fell with Famous Dave's! ;)

Today, my friend and I went for a bromance date. First it was the #1 Pho, then Victoria Garden, then Ontario Mills and finally, we finished off with Famous Dave's BBQ. Now I usually don't crave for American food, let alone American BBQ in a restaurant. I did, in the past, enjoyed Lucille's, but I never crave to go back for more. Anyhow, to heighten the spark of our date, we ordered a feast for two. It comes with fries, corn, cornbread, bbq ribs, bbq chicken and then a choice of either pulled pork, sausage or brisket. Famous Amanda, our cute and informal waitress recommended the brisket. She also did a demo on the restaurant's 5 different BBQ sauces. The food came out pretty fast, but perhaps, it was because the restaurant isn't that busy on a Sunday night. Anyhow, we heard "feast feast feast feast" and it turns out that our feast for 2 platter was on arrival. This platter was huge as it can easily feed 3 people. There was no way for the both of us to finish this bbq galore. The recommended brisket was pretty damn tender and tasty. Of all the meat the platter contains, the beef brisket was probably my favorite. The platter also comes with coleslaw and bake beans with pulled pork. The st. louis style ribs served on the platter were fork tender as well. The chicken was probably my least favorite of all the meats. However, it was not bad at all. The corn was yellow and juicy but it wasn't all that sweet. It was great with the Texan bbq sauce though. The fries could be better but it was somewhat addicting with most of the bbq sauce provided. All in all, it was a decent meal. I wouldn't necessarily crave for the bbq but I wouldn't deny its feast for two platter either. Regardless of the at par bbq of famous dave's, Rancho Cucamonga is still not the place to be. I wouldn't have gone there if my friend hadn't move there.

Not only have we had a quest for fabulos Mexican Food but also marvelous BBQ. My husband just loves BBQ but the food I grew up with was so much better than any we have tried... until Famous Dave's. Its like good ole southern BBQ at its finest. Loved the chicken loved the ribs. And the.manager found out it was our first time. He brought menus, sample BBQ sauce and coupons. My new BBQ place has been found!

Waited 15 min and had to ask to get a server. Food was decent but no apologies for lack of service. Delivered about 10 chips for the four of us. Bbq bottles were dirty and other tables looked the same.

I was really craving for BBQ and decided to check out Famous Dave's BBQ. I remembered one time strolling in Long Beach and smelling aromatic BBQ and followed it to Dave's but I was already full. So i decided to go this weekend The place is like a shack and the decor is reminiscent of a barn ? They have the typical BBQ joint menu, ribs, brisket , tri tip , etc. We got the Texas Brisket and Fully loaded baked potato. The Brisket was absolutely delicious, it was succulent and tender. I loved drizzling their tangy sauce all over it, giving it a little sweetness and a kick at the end. The broccoli was very good, so was the mac n cheese. But the potato was a disappointed, for 8 bucks it came with almost nothing to justify its price. It was basically a baked potato with sour cream , cheese and a little shreds of brisket. Could have just spent an extra 4 and got the whole Texas brisket platter. Overall pretty decent , but i think i prefer Lucille's, which give out complimentary yummy bread with apple butter!!!! :| * revisit I decided to try Famous Dave's again and this time we got the feast which consisted of : A full slab of St. Louis-style spareribs, a whole chicken, 1/2 lb. of either Texas beef brisket or Georgia chopped pork, coleslaw, Famous Fries, Wilbur Beans, four corn-on-the-cob, and four corn bread muffins. they started chanting feast feast feast! as they brought it out, although i thought they said beast hahaha (: but everything was tender, saucy just plain ol' finger licking good. I really liked the fries with their dipping sauce, especially the big bottle! The beans were alright but the corn bread was sooooo yummy!!!! this visit was exceptionally better than before!! (:

So I was across the street to watch the Star Trek movie, before the movies I really want to watch Transformers 2 and Terminator. All the while three trekie nerds were talking about watching the imax one 9 times which almost made me lose my appetite... When I decided to venture out to eat at Famous Daves The Restaurant: Kind of a more affordable Lucille's or southern type vibe Comfortable atmosphere, over the top decorations, open and comfy seating Time of Arrival: 3:50pm after lunch rush and before dinner rush about 2 other tables and bar 1/2 full What I ate: Pulled pork Lunch = Pulled pork, 1/2 corn on cob, 1 corn bread muffin, 1 side sweet potatoes, 1 side coleslaw + 1 soda = $16 not too shabby took about 8-10 minutes for food to arrive The Good: Very attentive and delightful server Cole Slaw was creamy, crunchy and delicious Pulled pork had good amount of sauce and spice/seasoning but was a little dry for my taste. Corn Bread and corn on cob was what you would expect out of corn lol The Bad: I waited about 2-4 minutes to have attention to be seated, possibly the hostess was on break. Still I think no matter how slow it is you should have someone to greet and seat. The sweet potatoes side was not to my liking at all sorry. I believe sweet potatoes are in season in summer, but the brown sugar wasn't enough. It needed to be sweeter, i know its cliche but it tasted gritty Would I Go Back: If I ever want BBQ and want a Lucille's alternative and I'm near ontario mills, definitely this is the spot to be. Overall I had an excellent pre-movie grubdown, to the point where I missed 5 minutes of the beginning.

The best beef brisket I have ever eaten! Great flavor and so tender that it breaks apart with your fork. If Dave's served nothing but beef brisket, I would keep coming back. But wait, there's more! Although I almost always get the brisket, I can also vouch for the ribs, chicken, pork and hot links. Add some corn on the cob, a cornbread muffin and some Wilbur beans, and you should walk out full and happy. This is my favorite barbecue place.

I'm gonna keep this one somewhat short and sweet. I know there are some hardcore BBQ enthusiasts out there that live in places like North Carolina, Texas, Memphis and St. Louis that would not set food in this establishment, but for BBQ lovers here in Califas, this is some good stuff, ESPECIALLY for a chain restaurant. I'd recomment getting what they call "THE FEAST", but try not to be annoyed too much by the server coming out chanting "FEAST, FEAST FEAST!" It gets as old as the kids saying "Are we there yet?" when you go on a trip, real fast. But the feast is what you want, because it says it feeds 4-6 people, but if you are a big eater, it would still be good for about 3 people. THE FEAST comes with: CHICKEN- very moist, very tender and very tasty and smokey, ST. LOUIS STYLE SPARE RIBS- very smokey and very tender BRISKET- thinly sliced, i saw the smoke ring, and melts in your melt CORNBREAD- very good, 4 muffins COLESLAW- probably the best restaurant slaw I've had ever BAKED BEANS- HEAVEN! Comes with pieces of pulled pork or something in there, but perfect balance of sweet and savory CORN- what's better than corn on the cob? Good to get your BBQ fix. Shock Top on tap. Casual atmosphere and great food.

Unspectacular food for unspectacular people. Sorry, but this was a big disappointment. I ordered the "BBQ Buddies" sampler, and everything tasted and felt (in the mouth) the same, no variation whatsoever. Even the sauces tasted the same. The sides weren't that appealing, either. I also tried one of the $1 ribs, and again, meh, and I like ribs. This is one of those corporate chain restaurants where people go because they buy into the marketing scheme, and the portions are pretty big, the food is not a priority here. The service is nice, but the rest of it is a gimmick. Sorry. If it's real 'cue you're looking for, the corporate joint ain't the place to get it...

Wanted to take the family out to dinner and went there a week ago Sunday. After waiting over an hour to get in(mind you we had a 3-year-old with us), our party of 7 was seated at a corner table in the room where the bar is. The bartender came over to our table and took our dinner order. She kept calling me" Babe" which I found a bit odd. We ordered one appetizer- the onion strings. It took a very long time to come to the table and when we finally did get it, it was just warm (translation--sitting under the heat lamps for who knows how long before some server wondered what table it belonged to). After more than 30 minutes waiting(and this is not an exaggeration), I finally got tired of sitting there and got up to find the manager or somebody. I found another server and asked him if it was normal to be waiting over half an hour for our dinner order to come up and mind you we had a 3 year old with us! He told me no, it was not normal and that he would check on it for me. The bartender girl who had taken our order, saw me and proceeded to tell me "The order is coming up Babe, we were waiting on the cajun chicken sandwich" with major attitude. Which I find to be a load of ?+&%$54! as the cajun chicken sandwich uses a fried chicken breast on it. After that, our food mysteriously found its way to our table rather quickly. Again, it was not very warm, as it had been sitting under the heat lamps for who knows how long! The BBQ was ok, might have been a little better if it was hot when it was served to us!! After this experience, I will never go back to this restaurant! I am a chef and I know what goes on in the back of house, so telling me we are waiting over half an hour for a cajun chicken sandwich does not fly well with me!!

Always a fan of Famous Daves, and was thinking while we were eating there for the 100th time or so today. I don't think I have written a review for them. So today is the lucky day. And as always they are wonderful. Its a great place to eat some great BBQ. We were famished today, so another good point is the fast service. Ordering the standard BBQ type food guarantees fast arrival in front of you! lol As all the food has been slow cooking all morning before we got there. I always order the regular plate of ribs. That is four good size ribs. Along with corn on the cob, corn muffin, and 2 sides of your choice. All the sides are great - today was the Wilbur beans and coleslaw! Delish! My husband had the large rib plate - 6 ribs, the same extras as mine and he got the Wilbur beans and mac & cheese that was yummy. (As I had to have a taste) :o) Great place, great workers. And who can't beat chiming in with "Feast, feast, feast!" As a giant trash can lid of wonderful BBQ yummys walks past you!

My friend Cheryl thoughtfully selected this place for lunch, since she wanted to take me somewhere I hadn't been before. This place has been reviewed to death, so let me bullet-point my thoughts. - Friendly server who made actual recommendations and didn't say the "Everything here is good" line. - Quick service. Our food arrived within 5 minutes of placing our orders - I liked the variety of different types of BBQ sauces - I had the brisket, which was good, but at $15, could have used a little more meat. - Pretty good version of bread pudding, not that I'm an expert. Yea, I'm sure I could get better BBQ in Texas, or various points east, but since I'm not going there anytime soon, I'm not interested in hearing about it from the BBQ snobs or haters.

My first time here after hearing so much hype about this place. I wasn't disappointed in the food.. 3 of us went for an early dinner and I wasn't to suprised we had to wait about 10-15 min. to be seated. Although I had walked to the bathroom and 1/4 of the resturant was empty. i assumed there wasn't a full staff so I didn't say anything. We were seated in the bar which I wasn't too pleased about by again said nothing figuring at least it had T.V. Our server was there within seconds for our drink order and advised us on the "feast" which we were considering. Since the 3 of us were hungry it seemed like a good deal. We did make the mistake of ordering boneless wings with the dinner to be served 1 st. It took about 15 mins to get those and they were nothing to brag about. Then came the "feast" the amount of food was staggering. The chicken was moist, ribs fell apart in your mouth and the beef were all very good. I liked having some many choices of BBQ sauce on the table because we all had different tastes. We brought home enough food to fed the 3 of us again tomorrow. All I can say is go on an empty stomach.

Yum-my.. My mom and I went to Famous Dave's a few months ago for the very first time. Our server was very attentive and walked us through the menu and the various sauces they had sitting at the table. We were able to taste all the sauces and he gave us some suggestions on what to eat. I got the chicken and my mom get the riblets. The portions of the food were big. Both of us had to take some leftovers home, but that's ok.. I didn't mind eating the yumminess two days in a row. Their sides were good. I had mashed potatoes and corn.. and my mom had sweet potatoes and corn. The corn bread was good. I like cornbread that is still yellow.. not too golden.. and kinda soft.. and that's what it seemed good to me when we were there.. I have yet to return, and I know I am most likely going to bring my boyfriend with me. There are so many items on the menu I am wanting to try.. I definitely recommend this place..

Amazing food! Tender and juicy ribs, chicken and brisket. a perferct family restaurant. Try their devil's spit sauce, amazing!

It's all about the variety of sauces. Get the fest and you are in heaven. Everything is cooked tender and the smoke flavor is there and it's a mild smoke flavor. It's the best chain BBQ restaurant in my book!

When you sit customers in a section, make sure there is someone covering that section. We sat for 15 mins with no one coming over to greet us and take our order. Finally got up and left after another waiter said someone was working our section. Took our money to Lucille's instead.

I love BBQ!!! And its hard for me to find a place with good ribs. My brother and I have different taste buds when it comes to ribs. So here, I loved the ribs, and he thought they were ok. I really liked the ribs, but I didnt get them as a main dish. I got it from the sampler platter. I ordered the Beef Brisket, and Sausage Link. Beef Brisket- it was pretty good. They really like the flavor and cover it with BBQ sauce. I dont really like the BBQ sauce that much except for the "Sweet and Zesty" the others were ok. The Sausage Link, I thought was really good. They cook it well with the crunchy outside and juicy center. It had a bit of a gas flavor to it though. Other than that, they serve large portions! In a nice fun family picnic style. Good music to go with it. The wait wasnt long at all. The waiter was fun. It was a good fun time, with some filling spicy BBQ. I had a good time. Although next time, I am just going to get the ribs!

There's a lot of fat people who go to Famous Dave's. Now, usually, that's a good thing but there's a slight feeling that they're fat not because they like the finer things of life such as eating and being lazy but because they given up on hope and have decided to model themselves after the people in Wall-E. Also, there's usually at least one customer who looks like a relative of Jabba the Hutt. Now that I've stopped being an ass, I should review the place. The food's the best part as it's some fairly decent barbeque and you get some good-size portions. In the few times I've gone to Famous Dave's, I haven't been disappointed with the food. It's good for a chain barbeque place. The customer service and place itself isn't that good though. The place itself comes as an old Southern barbeque but lacks any real attempt to make it realistic and the employees are either annoying, indifferent, or some kind combination of the two where they try to be cute but truely don't give a damn. I suggest the best way to enjoy Famous Dave's is to order some pick-up and eat at your place.

Consistently good. Beats Lucilles and WoodRanch. Almost beats Phil's BBQ in San Diego. Love the variety of sauces. Ribs and brisket are great. Cornbread is tasty. Fries are pretty standard. Beans are sweet and tasty. Cole slaw is just okay.

My boyfriend and I wanted to try this place a couple weeks ago, but the wait was more than we expected so this time, when we decided to give this place another try, we thought wait time was going to be long again. But we were wrong. When we walked in, they seated us right away since we were only a party of 2 compared to the rest who were waiting and had a larger party. The hostess told us that those with a larger party had a longer wait. So those we have larger parties, be prepared to wait. So we sat down and I saw the picture of Dave. I was shocked and surprised. This guy was on Food Network's 'Best in Smoke', but wasn't the winner. Regardless of that, I told my boyfriend that and he was surprised too. BUT regardless of all that...there is a reason why I put 3 stars. Seating was quick. We tried the 5 different sauces on our own for a while and then with the appetizer when it came. THEN the server decides to come and tell us what each sauce is, but we already decided which one we liked better. So, that was awkward and weird. The drinks we ordered took a while to come (and we ordered water!) and it seemed to me that the server forgot about them until he saw our table with no water. My boyfriend orders the brisket with the side of mac and cheese and fries. He liked it a lot. I ordered the pulled pork with the side of mac and cheese also and the slaw. It was good, but I wouldn't say I liked it because I don't think I'm going to come back to this place and I wouldn't recommend it to friends and family. The serve was just bad. Like we didn't have a credit card problem, but our server just seemed out of it. We asked for water refills and it took longer than it normally should to get a refill...and he did it separately. My boyfriend's first and then mine. I've had better BBQ food at Lucille's and way better server experiences. I'd say they stand out from the various sauces they have and unique side dishes like the mac and cheese (it had four cheeses and jalapenos in it). They put their own spin to it. The pulled pork and brisket are made just the way they are supposed to be, falling apart, but in my opinion, I don't really need more fat than pork on my plate or for it to be drenched in BBQ sauce. I mentioned earlier that this wasn't a place that I'm going to come back too, but I can be eating my words. So, instead I might come back or I might not. We'll see as time goes on.

Went for Memorial Day. Got the feast for two. Had the enjoyment of great bbq without the mess of cooking and cleaning. Yum and yay for Dave's! Lucille's is no comparison. Have also gone here for birthday party, lunch, and just dinner. Always satisfied, no complaints.

The ribs were a little disappointing. The brisket was really good though. Living in San Diego it's hard not to compare to Phill's. I would say Phill's ribs are better but I liked Dave's Brisket more than Phill's Tri-tip.

As the last bit of flavor from the Famous Dave's BBQ sauce is ebbing out here, I figured I may as well write a review while it's still fresh in mind! We have quite a few good BBQ places to choose from around here, but I had never been to Famous Dave's before, so when the BBQ cravings kicked in tonight, we decided to give this BBQ joint a shot! As we got out of our car, the BBQ fumes were hanging over the parking lot, kind of just luring people in (I'm sure they've even lured a few people over from the BJ's parking lot.... it was a very convincing BBQ fume.... it says "don't you want a piece of me?" :)) The interior was very cute. It reminds me of a picnic. In fact, I believe there even were picnic tables there, all tables are covered in red/white checkered table cloths and it puts you in a good mood. I had originally decided to go for some ribs, but I was wayled by the Georgia chopped pork (I believe that's what it was called), so I went for that and chose mac'n cheese and potato salad for my sides. (Can't have a picnic without potato salad....). My husband decided to give the Texas tri tip a try, he also got the mac'n cheese along with the BBQ beans. It's torture to sit there while you're hungry. Once in awhile a huge tray of ribs and fixings would be walked by our table with the waiters chanting "feast, feast, feast" ..... kinda gets old after while, but it's their signature of some sort I'm sure. Well, our food arrived and ohh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh good! It was a pile of succulent bbq pork on top of a piece of sour dough bread that had soaked up all the juices and BBQ sauce from the pork .... It was accompanied by a corn muffin, corn on a cob and my two sides. The pork was soo tasty, BBQed to perfection. There were a few charred pieces as well, which was really tasty, they gave the meal a "home cooked" feel. The potato salad was good, tasted like home made, and the mac'n cheese was terrific! It had pieces of corn in it AND jalapeno! It wasn't spicy, but it had that nice jalapeno flavor, I don't think I can ever again eat regular mac'n cheese.... from now on, I demand jalapeno flavored mac'n cheese! :) My husband's tri tip was so good also, it was nice and tender, no fat at all. To top it ALL of... as if there wasn't enough BBQ sauce on these meats to begin with.... on your table, there is a selection of 5 different sauces that you can pile on top of your already drenched food. All the sauces are terrific, my favorite was the sweet & tangy, I drenched my pork in that. Hm..... negatives? Diet Pepsi. Always a bummer. The "feast feast" chanting like I said, was getting a little old. Other than that, I don't have much bad to say. The service was also very good, even though they seemed very busy tonight, and slightly understaffed.... I want to go back and try the ribs. I have a feeling they won't disappoint. (PS.... I'm giving them 4 stars because I can't in good conscience give them the same rating as Joey's BBQ .... I do feel that Joey's is a notch higher on the BBQ scale :))

We have been going here for awhile. Last visit was about a year ago, recently tried going for lunch. I saw their site said it opened at 11am. We got there at 11:30 and the doors were still locked and the hostess' were just standing there unhelpful. After waiting in the heat another 10 minutes they finally opened the door we were sat at a booth and the waitress was SO UNFRIENDLY! She rolled her eyes and asked us what we wanted to drink. Since we were frequents before we LOVED the catfish but saw the menu had changed, we asked her if they still carried it and she proceeded to ARGUE with us they never had it. Argue with a customer?? REALLY!? She claimed its a corporate ONLY dish and has never been offered at their "Franchise", kindly we replied that was the only location we ever had it. She said she'd only been working there 5 months and didnt know, uummmm.... shouldnt you have started there first and been a little more kind!?! So we kindly said we were going elsewhere and we hope she had a better day, again rolling her eyes she grabbed the menus and said "BYE!" WORST SERVICE EXPERIENCE. And to top it off, the manager was just around the corner and did NOTHING! NO THANK YOU!

Went back and tried the tri tip. It looked similar to cube steak and the taste was so so. I'd have to say Lucille's has better tri tip. Stick with the ribs, beef brisket and tender pulled pork.

Great food and great service. We always enjoy the friendliness of the staff and the food they serve. I personally like the idea that there are different types of sauces to choose from eventhough their meat already has a lot of flavor in it. But if you need a little bit of a "kick" on your bbq, then I suggest trying the Devil's Spit bbq sauce. And may I say that their corn bread muffin is really off the hook! Happy eating folks!

This is really just an OK place. Still I can see why there is always a waiting line...because BBQ sells. Even the worst ones. Famous Dave's BBQ isn't down right nasty. The ribs, BBQ chicken, wings have seasoning. But they aren't rubbed in, or seasoned long enough. You taste the seasoning on the outside. Once your teeth bites into the meat, it's pretty blend. This goes for that corn as well. For a $17.99 combo meal, seems like a lot of food, but I'd rather they keep that same price but provide BETTER meat and seasoning. Will not return.

Famous Dave's BBQ Been here 4 times within a year. We ordered the Famous feast twice and individual ribs the third time. When ever I go to a BBQ joint I compare the BBQ to my own ribs and chicken I rate mine a 8-9 at times. Famous Dave's Ribs are rated 8 on my scale of 1-10 with 10 being absolutely great! The only complaint I would have is the chicken it has this weird taste about It, I'm thinking it might be vinegar but I just cant figure it out and the taste is not good at all. The wedge fries are ok, the corn bread is ok, the beans are ok. I'm not a big fan of Texas BBQ sauce the main ingredient I think is vinegar. All in all I only go when my wife and kid want it. I really don't see why its famous? Maybe in Texas....

Food was good but service, which is usually 70% of the restaurant experience for me, was poor. We waited 30 minutes for the chips the waiter said he'd bring us (that they serve while guests are waiting for their orders). When we asked for them, the waiter said they were still cooking. When it came, the chips were hardly warm, soggy, and barely enough for one person, let alone a party of three. Seriously?? Like 20 chips. The waiter seemed to spend more time chatting with other tables than attending to ours. The turn around time for the food was too long. It was our first time here and it was a disappointment. Only when the waiter could see the frustration in our faces did he start paying more attention to us. Food was good, like I said, but it could have tasted better if we had better service. They did, however, send us home with a bottle of BBQ sauce since it was our first time. I don't know if I'll come here again. There's other places that serve excellent BBQ. Now-a-days, good food is no longer enough. What sets you apart from the guy next door is the service you provide your guests.

My wife and I where awesomely surprised with how good this place was. I have always wanted to try this joint and am glad I made the right had turn into their lot to take a chance on their meat in my mouth. We sat at the bar and instantly feel in love with the place because of the smell and great customer service. I have never had a bar tender so polite that we almost wanted to take her home to hang out. The manager approached us and gave us a decent spin on their different sauces with was a good thing to know and try out before the meal came out. We both ordered the 2 meat combos with one side. I ordered the brisket and Ribs which they are famous for and had their potato salad. My wife had the pulled pork and BBQ Chicken with a side of Red Garlic mashed potatoes. We both where pleased with our orders and got what we did to share and try a bit of everything. My favorite turned out to be the BBQ Chicken. The flavor was amazing. The sauces rocked, especially the sweet and zesty. We enjoyed our visit. We will definitely go back with the kids and buy the sauce in the store.

I LOVE this place!!! The first time I went there we had the "FEAST" as they chant Feast, Feast, Feast walking the food to your table. 5 Stars: Baby Back ribs fell off the bone Brisket beef was juicy and flavorful Chicken was good The Side we ordered a=were baked beans probably my least favorite even though it was ok, I did reallyenjoy the mac and cole slaw. The cornbrad muffin was goo too w/ the honey. I believe the Feast was about $60 but it feeds 6-8 peple easy. For me it feed 3 adults and my 2 crumb snatchers =). And we had leftovers to take home.

I've always wanted to eat here because I always hear great things about it, but today I went with my girlfriend and as we walked in there was nobody up front to assist us. As we waited for some one to attend us no one showed up. There was even a few employees that walked by and saw us standing there and did nothing, not even a "hey someone will help you shortly". After waiting for a while we decided to just walk out and go to BJs instead. It made me really mad because I've been wanting to try the food here for a long time but if the service is going to be like this then we'll just stay away.

We were staying at a hotel near by so it was in walking distance to where we were at. We decided to go on a Saturday, those seem to be the busy days. Best to go on a Sunday or weekday cause if you are a party of two you will be seated without any issues. When we walked in to put our name in, the hostess said it would take about 45 minutes for a party of two. We sat outside first, it was a very cold day so we decided to go inside to sit. We sat there for about 38 minutes we were hearing parties of 25 people coming in. Even heard some people who complained to the manager about waiting an hour to be seated. It was a complete mad house cause everyone was waiting in the front entrance blocking those who wanted to put their name in. Sounds like they won't accept any parties until all guests have arrived so if you have a large party and only half of them show up you won't be seated until they arrive. When the 45 minutes was up they called our name and we were seated near the fireplace where they display their trophies and a moose head. If you are a big guy the tables are not very friendly, they were very tight against my belly, best to ask for a regular table and not a booth! Our waiter came, a very tall guy, had to kneel down so he could explain to us about the sauces that were on the table. He heard that it was our first time so he was nice enough to give us a sample of all the sauces on a small plate and they all tasted good. He brought our drinks right away, took our order and disappeared. The drinks didn't even taste all that well, Sierra Mist tasted flat, my Pepsi tasted ok until he gave me a refill then I could sense the carbonation on both the Sierra Mist and Pepsi were becoming flat. Our food arrived, another server not our waiter delivered the food to our table. My meal was not very filling, I got the Texas Manhandler and it seemed like it was fit for a kid. Small portions for a huge expensive price. I asked for the pickles on the side but they never came. For they prices they charge you for the food it all seemed overcooked. Ribs were burnt, the corn was soggy. After complaining about our soda, the waiter finally showed up and gave us a refill but even that was nasty tasting soda. He asked me if I was ok on my Pepsi and I replied yeah I didn't want any more Pepsi cause I knew it would be like the Sierra Mist just plain terrible. I will definitely not be coming back here again. The manager walks all over the place you can't help but see him walking back and fourth. Probably cause guests complain about the long wait time. Avoid busy nights, most likely Friday and Saturday. If you are hungry for BBQ this is not the place, if you have a large wallet full of money and want to waste it on huge prices like this then come on down.

I must be spoiled by Lucille's Rib Shack in Anaheim because I felt like Famous Dave's is a BBQ place for calorie restricted dieters. I ordered the Texas man-handler sandwich. With a name like that I was expecting a sandwich the size of a whopper, not the whopper jr's little cousin. If you name a sandwich Texas, you imply it's going to be big and then you if add manhandler, again you reinforce size. This thing is like a dainty manhandler. Okay, I need to shed a few pounds anyways I consoled myself. The BBQ itself wasn't bad but, not great. I burned some more calories when I got the bill $15 for a little sandwich. We left the place hungrier than when we went in.

Definitely hit the spot. I love me some BBQ and this place did not disappoint. I've been to some really good BBQ places in Texas (Houston, Austin & Dallas) and Famous Dave's is up there. If you like it hot ask for their Wilbur's Revenge sauce --it definitely has a kick to it. Went on a Friday night around 8pm and the place was packed but we were seated promptly. Service was great, our food came quickly, and our drinks were always filled. I like BBQ sauce with my ribs so it's nice to have different sauces to choose from (which I really didn't need since the original sauce is pretty darn good. ) We ordered a bit of everything. BBQ Ribs - One of the best I've had. Sausage - Delicious with a nice crisp and good flavor. Brisket - Melt in your mouth good. Nice and tender. Chopped Pork- Was ok. Mac n Cheese - Very tasty with a nice jalapeño kick. Wilbur Beans - Not big on beans but it was really good with a kick of jalapeno. Mash potato - Nice and Garlicky just like I like it! Fries - Good size wedges made crisp to order.

3.5 Stars. Been here about four-five times. Last time was about two days ago, on a Sunday. Our waiter was really nice, funny, and cool. However, the food was lukewarm, which wasn't the case in the past. This temperature did not make the food taste good. We did get a little side of salsa/pickles, which was yummy and the Wilbur's Revenge? sauce was tasty/spicy. Fries or potato wedges were crispy and good. Buffalo wings though were not spicy at all and not warm. The two little chili peppers on the menu by it doesn't match up. Next time, we'll get the much spicier flavor of wings. Bring out hot food! Oh, also, our cell phones had "no service" when inside the restaurant. They had but we didn't use their WiFi.

Oh, Dave. I know why you are "Famous." Your BBQ is superior. If you think Lucille's is awesome, don't come here cause you'll never go back to... What's that place called again? Anywho, If you are a fan of sauce (like my bud Ernie G.) This spot has five different sauces, each of which are equally awesome. The cornbread is rich, the chicken is moist, the brisket is tender. This spot is definitely a guilty pleasure.

My boyfriend and his mom took me for dinner tonight, I'm not a real big bb-q fan but I have to admit It was pretty good. Big portions, great waiter service, and the corn muffin is bomb!!! moist just the way it should be, not dry at all. Overall it was a good experience. Wait time kinda sucked though,.

Food was better than I thought it would be and the service was great. I tried a sample of mini sandwiches to get a little taste of everything and was pleasantly suprised. I really like the pulled pork and the brisket. My husband has visited once before and he liked it so he thought I would too. I would like to go back and try the feast since that looked good and well priced. I really like the variety of BBQ sauces that the waitress had us sample with freshly made potato chips.

It was crowded when we went here for dinner on a Saturday evening, which usually means the food is something to rave about. We ordered "The Feast" for 4 people, hot links, and a side of apple cinnamon in amaretto. The Feast came with chicken, spareribs, brisket, fries, beans, coleslaw, corn and corn muffins. It is sad to say that the sides were the only worthy foods on the plate. Their brisket was too salty and had no smoke in them. It almost tasted like they had broiled them instead of smoking them. Everything was overly seasoned with celery salt. If you want good BBQ, go somewhere else. My 9 month old son did enjoy the corn muffins at least.

  • Jessica A.

Shared the feast for 1 with my husband. Liked the ribs and chicken, but thought the brisket was too salty and dry. Added on a side of mac 'n cheese, because I was curious about it being spicy. I was expecting something more authentic and comfort food-like. The other sides ranged from "okay to better" (corn, baked beans, cole slaw, and corn bread). The pluses are the attentive service and generous portions, but the food isn't something I'll be rushing back for.

Came here for a late lunch today. I heard good things about this place from my co-workers and decided to give it a try. We ordered the Half portion Feast with 1/2 bbq chicken, brisket, corn bread, thick cut fries, corn on the cob, ribs, baked beans, and creamy coleslaw all served on top of a silver trashcan lid. The chicken was super moist and my favorite thing on the plate. The brisket was also smoky and very tender. WAYY too much food, we took most of it home. Very similar to Lucille's, but I liked this chicken better. The bbq chicken I usually get at Lucille's doesn't seem as moist. The feast is a great value for a lot of tasty food.

3.5 stars. I must start off by saying that service is EXCELLENT. Our waitress Emily was so nice and attentive. We had a coupon from being a fan of Famous Dave's on Facebook for $15 off your meal, which isn't too bad. Hubby got some meal with a whole bunch of meats. I enjoyed every single type of meat. I especially enjoyed the brisquet. It was definitely tender and grilled to perfection. Everything else wasn't too too memorable, but still tasty. I opted for the two meat deal and got chicken and rip tips. I've never had rib tips before, but the first batch I got was salty. like... super salty. I asked our waitress if they're supposed to taste like that and she said NO WAY and got me a fresh new serving of those tip in less than 5 minutes. They were waaaay better. Altogether a good place. I wouldn't come out here just for a plate load of meat, but it was sure tasty. Corn muffin was awesome.

I loved this place! Food was good, as was the service. It was clean, and the food was delivered in a timely manner. There was a wait one evening, but we simply went to the bar to have a beer while we waited. Wish that there was a Famous Dave's near my residence! Will definitely go again if we're in the area!

Ben used to work in RanchoCucamonga with me so we used to eat at random places on 4th & foothill...anywhere in between ontario mills to victoria gardens we ate at. sooo when Famous Daves started construction on 4th Street we were freakin excited!!! they had free bbq before they opened and they had lines and lines of people during grand opening ...but Ben and I NEVER went!! wtheck right?? like we never made it for lunch so we were trying to catch it on a Friday nite but never got to it...then ppl at work started telling us Famous Daves isnt that GREAT and that it's not worth it so we never went....stuck to lucilles for BBQ in RanchoCuca Few weeks back a few coworkers and I went out to Famous Daves!! so we went for lunch and got seated fairly quickly. the decor is so cute. totally typical BBQ place very random junky stuff all over the walls. piggies everywhere. and tons of sauce on our table like 6 diff kinds... i ordered off the specialmenu of $15 dollars under 15minutes or something close to that. and I got a beef brisket baked potato. In less then 15 minutes we all got our food and devoured it. the Beef Briskets were tender and well marinated....reallly realllllly good. i never understood why ppl loved beef brisket @ lucilles... it was soo bLAH but HERE! it was YUMMY. the potato was salted on the outside but decked out with sourcream, chives, cheese it was REALLY yummy & fulfilling for around $6! i gotta come back after work for the ribs....ribs for lunch means going back to work with tons of stains hehe...so thats no bueno!! took over a year to try it but ill be back. after one of those ginormous platters of chicken and piggy parts ,,ribs YUM..i bet this review will become a 4star!! btw our waiter hes slow. and MUMBLES to himself we were frustrated like crazzzzzy i mean i couldnt understand a THING he was saying so i cant rename u the bbq sauces BUT the spicy one i think DEVILS SPIT was reallly yummmy :)

Came to "Famous Daves" (even though i've never heard of it.. so he's not very famous in my book). Anyhow.. it was last Thursday (July 30) around 8:30, it was pretty dead only about 1/4 of the restaurant was full. Service was OUTSTANDING!! The waitress was a doll, always getting us refills and was very attentive. I ordered the 2 meat combo with rib tips and brisket. The brisket was very very tender and delicious. The rib tips (they gave me about 10 or more of them) were really boney, so I gave them to my husband to eat. It was plenty of food but I was charged 17 bucks for it, so I expect to get more than just a little. We got the combo - I think it's like 4 bucks extra and they give you a mini dessert and a salad/soup or chili. The chili was really really good. It was a bit spicy but that was fine for me. I even squeezed a little bbq sauce in there so i could get some extra pow. Overall the food was good. The bill was around 85 bucks for 2 kids and 2 adults. (including 4 beers). We will go back again I'm sure since my husband really liked it, but if i was to go back on my own i probably wouldn't.

This place has allot of great reviews but I didn't find the place to be all that...................... Maybe i ordered the wrong thing. I ordered the beef brisket meal , which was fairly priced for the amount of food you get. The brisket with the sweet BBQ sauce. It was good and i have no complaints about it yet. your meal is served with a corn bread muffin, corn cob , and 2 sides...... I went with the the beans and mashed potatoes and i found them to be very bland no taste what so ever........ The brisket was served over a piece of white bread which was kinda stale. The service was good and helpful and pretty fast. As for the rest of the menu i don't know about but as far as what i had , to me it was okay. I'll go again if in this area and definitely give them another chance by trying something different but I wouldn't drive out of my way's to go eat there...........

This review is based on service only. The food was great. My husband and I chose Famous Dave's for our anniversary dinner over another place that I was really wanting to go. Things started good but went down hill fast. I ordered a salad with no tomato and my husband ordered the rib tips. After about 20 minutes the waitress came over and asked us if we had gotten our food. Strange, because you'd think she would know if she brought it to us. When she returned with it she didnt bring any silverware so we asked for it. She then only brought 1 fork. As I started to eat my salad I saw it had tomatos, but I didnt want to send it back because I had waited forever. Then I realized it was the wrong salad all together so I did send it back. My husband was done with his rib tips by the time my new salad came out, and again I had no fork. To top it off, when they brought the bill, they had charged me for 2 salads. The waitress was very nice but she just didnt have it together. The salad was terrific once I got the right one. I think Ill just get food to go from now on if I decide to go back.

Packed! As all the other Famous Dave's are... The food was good, as expected. However the staff, once again, seemed a bit worn out. Friendly, but worn out (tired)

My bf and I came here for our first 4th if July celebration together!! The hostess was very honest in how long the wait was gonna be...20-25. It took about that long. The person who actually seated us was a little rude but I completely understood her frustration since they turned out to be way busier than expected n way short handed. So we got to sit in a booth in a separate room away from the noise n chatter allllll alone = ). Food was good and didn't take too long. Love Famous Dave's!!

I'm a huge fan of their brisket, fried catfish, ribs, baked beans, cornbread muffin, jalepeno mac and cheese, and bread pudding! What a mouthful, all their food I've tried is good. And their lunch specials are very reasonable, and come with corn, corn muffin, 2 choices of meat, and a side. My favorites sauces for the ribs are the sweet and sassy and the original, which has won many awards. For a first timer, I recommend either brisket or ribs, and their catfish, which is all white meat and so well seasoned.

Finally a decent place to eat at when in Palmdale!!!! I was sick of going to Claim Jumpers and now I have a new place. Don't get me wrong about Claim Jumpers. Decent chain food and good service, but to have a decent BBQ place helps. I am a fan of the potato salad. Even bought a pint to go. Ribs were very tender for me. That's a plus for me. Service was top notch. I'll be back to try other items when stuck out in the AV. Hope the economy does not close down this place. Happy the On the Border is finally gone from all of Los Angeles. Was not a fan of AppleBee's! That is gone also in that mall. Claim Jumpers and Dave's BBQ are the best places in that mall...hands down. I just realized I gave a review for the wrong location. Oops!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the ribs here. I always order the 1/3 ribs with beans and potato salad. Their corn bread is also very tasty. I love the ribs here because they are always very meaty and tender, the dry rub they use gives it a kick, and I love to sample all of the different BBQ sauces they have at each table. Very busy on weekends we waited 40 min for party of 2, and pretty cool bar also.

I heard Famous Dave won a very famous BBQ award in Carson City, NV so my wife & I decided to try it. I tried every BBQ sauce they had and only liked the Sweet & Zesty one. I don't really care for the others. Devil's Spit wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. I ordered the 2 meat lunch special so I had 2 pieces of spare rib pork & a 1/4 chicken. It came with 1 side, half corn on the cob & a corn bread. The spare ribs were good, but I prefer baby backs (much more tender). The chicken was good as long as you dip it in the Sweet & Zesty sauce. I had the wilbur beans as my side and that was better than I thought. The bottom line though is that their BBQ is not that special. I prefer Sweet Lumpy's in Temecula for the BBQ sauce. Too bad Sweet Lumpy's is so far away.

My son wanted to go here for his 16th birthday, damn im gettin old. My wife and I ordered a full rack of ribs, naked so that way we could try all the sauces. The meat was so dry that i couldnt eat them anymore. i was hungry but i just couldnt put up with it anymore. The mashed sweet pototes are really good. i love those things. The sauces where pretty good but i dont see how they won any competitions. I have to give this visit a 2 because it was that bad.

Down to 3.5 stars. Catfish fingers are tasty appetizers! The smoked salmon spread with toasted pita triangles did not work for me and I couldn't put my finger on why I didn't like it. My main course was the BBQ Buddies which was 4 sliderish sampling of their larger sandwiches - BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork, Sliced Pork, and Hotlinks. Some of the bread was charred - boo! I'd say the BBQ chicken was the tastiest. The links (even though burnt) and sliced pork were good, but good god, the pulled pork was dry. I mean I lathered that thing in bbq sauce after my first bite and I could still feel that pork taking what little moisture I had left in my mouth and throat as I consumed the thing. Is there no quality control? Just come out and tell me, "Hey the pork is super dry right now, would you like more of another sandwich?" and I would have respected you more.

I am writing this review after tasting first Lucille's, then Dave's (it seems these two are being directly compared). The portions are plenty, the description of the sauces is very unique and fun. I love the option for $1 ribs anytime throughout the meal. I had the nachos-for-two...and it's a very filling meal. My favorite sauce is Devil's Spit. My friends tried everything: Brisket sandwich or meal are excellent. Ribs are meaty and fall off the bone, clean. Was let down when I saw the Texas Man Handler. I did not eat this, but my friend did, and it does not live up to the hype in regards to actual size. Service is great. Atmosphere is like an antique store with tables. Restaurant smells wonderful. Will definitely visit again.

This is the best spot for bbq in the inland empire if you ask me. I'm a big bbq'er myself and the food here is great. There sides are also great my favorites being there mac and cheese with a hint of jalapeno the flavors jump all around your mouth and there bbq beans with hint's of pulled pork inside all a cant miss. There bbq sauces really stand out from all other spots. Hints Famous Dave is known for his sauces, The Georgia Mustard is a must on chicken you will have to try it for yourself to see, and if you think you can handle sauce supeeeeeeeer hot give the Wilbers Revenge sauce a try it will definitly put hair's on your chest if you dont have any now. All in all you cant go wrong with this place all meats and sides are equally good. PS go for the feast for 2-3 offers a little bit of everything you will leave satisfied.

I absolutely love BBQ so a stop by Famous Dave's is both a good and bad thing. Good first off, excellent portions, great service and a large variety of BBQ sauces. The bad, well I've had better brisket and tri-tip before. Are they bad? No, not at all. Just not the best. However, the pluses far outweigh the minuses. The beans are great, hell all the sides are great. I never turn down an invite to go here, neither should you!

I always seem to get the same thing and it is always good. Loaded potato with brisket and the mac and cheese. Looks like small amount, but there is plenty to eat and I have never finished it. Service was good.

OMFG I feel so dirty writing this review.... so dirty.... Partially because as I write this I am scarfing down a pint of Wilbur beans and the saucy sauce is dribbling down my chin... But mostly because I know real BBQ. My ex of 8 yrs is from Memphis. I've had REAL BBQ! I've been taught to only appreciate the real deal. Anything less is a sin. And that there is no real deal yet in Colorado. My ex would be so pissed off that I like this place (perhaps subconsciously the reason I like it, and if you believe so you can disregard anything I say after this). I love the taste of Dave's. The spicy fire pickles, the sweet, slathery BBQ sauce, the tasty beans...mmmmm..... I've had the BBQ chicken sandwich, garlic mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, cornbread muffins, bread pudding, coleslaw, wilbur beans, and drunkin apples. I can't complain about ANY of it. However, I LOVE sauces and spices and extra flavor. If you like your food/BBQ "true to the meat", then this isn't for you. Every single dish is packed with as much flavoring as possible. The chicken sandwich is drowned in BBQ sauce, the bun is buttered and toasted, and you top it with pickles that are fiery hot. The beans have pork and jalapeños and tons of seasoning. Even the coleslaw is heavy on the seasoning (sweet and peppery). The mashed potatoes have the skin and are heavy on the garlic. However I love it (shhhhhhhh don't tell anyone!!!!!). I've only had the take-out, so I can't comment on the decor or service. Now I need to take a shower and go to confessional.

I give Famous Dave's a 4.5 because I really didn't like their sweet tea much. I ordered the 1 meat lunch special which comes with their corn bread, corn on the cob and choice of one side. I got the roasted chicken which is basically chicken marinated in a lemon herb rub I think. For sides I got the garlic mashed potatoes. We also ordered the salmon spread appetizer which was salmon mixed with cream cheese with capers and chipotle peppers. It was served with a garlic flatbread. I can eat the appetizer all by itself without the flatbread. I can put that on any kind of break and be happy. The chicken that came with my lunch was also very tender. I was ripping it from the bone with just my fork! I can say for sure that I like Famous Dave's more than Lucille's.

One of the best Bbq place I been to around Rancho. I prefer this place more than Lucille's BBq. They have a great selection of BBq sauce, my favorite one is the spicy one (Of Course :)) Glazed Corn Bread muffin are BOMB.COM. Everything here are good as well! Finger licking good. Casual setting. Must Check it out!

Sweet & Zesty with Rich & Sassy. They have pretty good sauce. I like it more than Lucille's, that's for sure. I usually get the two meat combo. Catfish fingers and BBQ chicken. The catfish fingers are sooo good. They're also served as an appetizer. I was surprised how much I actually liked them. I also really really enjoy the homemade sweet pickles. I always make sure to request a side of them. The BBQ chicken is super tender and the sauce, is well, amazing. The service is a-ok, nothing to write home about. Make sure to have them give you sauce tour. Enjoy!

My first time last night to this wonderful BBQ place! First: The greeter was very friendly and very helpful! Second: Our amazing waiter, Anthony! Since it was our 1st time here, we were treated great and he knows his stuff. I love a restaurant who has friendly staff, and people who serve you and know what to recommend, and tells you HONESTLY which one you would really try...! Third: THE FOOD!!!! We ordered THE FEAST..and it was just perfect for the three of us! We had the ribs, potato wedges, cole slaw, corn on the cob, corn bread, briskets...amazing!!! The bbq sauces were the bomb!!! Great price...! Fourth: The atmosphere..So different from the other restaurants but I've been to, but hey, this is a BBQ place, and it was really cozy! Had a really great time looking at all the funny decor, I felt like I've been to Memphis ! Fifth: Since we were first timers, the manager found time to get to know us...what we wanted, how they can improve, etc...How's that???? You know, when we found this place, we almost gave up, because we've seen how full the parking lot was...but believe it or not, the waiting period was not that bad! LOVE IT...LOVE IT...Highly recommended...And I will take the rest of the family next time...This is what I'm talking about...!! Good food, good location, good service, good vibes!!

I went to famous daves for the first time yesterday and it was delicious. I had the rib tips meal with potato salad and wilbur beans, it also comes with corn on the cob and corn bread. The rib tips were juicy and tender, the potato salad was like any other, the beans were sweet and a lot better than I expected, the corn was good and the corn bread was moist but not too moist. Their service was very good and we got seated and served quickly. They explained all of the sauces which were all good by the way ( devils spit being my favorite). I liked when they all start chanting " feast feast!" And because it was my friends bday we got a free dessert which was ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate drizzled over it. The portions are big which is why I only finished half of my meal and had to unbutton my jeans after leaving. I like the decor and the bar area is nice too. I'm not a fan of eating heavily but if you're ever on an empty stomach this is the place to go.

The first time we had Famous Dave's was 5 years ago in Fresno, CA. I'm glad we have one closer. We love their food. Way better than Lucille's. Famous Dave's BBQ are juicy! If you get the "Feast", you get a sampler of their BBQ, cornbread, beans, coleslaw, corn, and wedge fries. Great food!

Love daves , really enjoy food , service , great place , brough home BBQ sauce , went to use , why is first ingredient " high frutose corn syrup " that's awful stiff in most write ups on foods, use more real sugar or whatever , take that stuff off the ingredient list..

Yum really good BBQ. It's so hard to find places with what passes as good BBQ...after my experiences at Lucille's, I much prefer this place. I feel they are (or at least can be) cheaper than Lucille's and offer better value all around. I hate to make this review a comparison to Lucille's, but as they are so closely related in market position (in terms of cost, market, and product), it seems difficult to avoid such comparisons being drawn. For certain, the service at Famous Dave's is better, and that's to say, it's very good. I like the BBQ somewhat better, but I feel some of the sides are better at Lucille's, and some at Famous Dave's...so I guess that aspect is a draw. The atmosphere is informal, and loud, which is fun for a much more laid back vibe. Personally I like it a little bit quieter when I have dinner, but we were there on a Friday night, and they were packed. Personally, I recommend the St. Louis ribs and the cinnamon apples. The sweet tea is good to drink, but I find most people's sweet tea is a little bland by my estimation, so I'm unfairly harsh as a critic on such matters. Go and try it out...it seems like a nice double portion for lunch (i.e. it's a lot of food, so I would probably take half or more home...as I did when I went...and then had leftover BBQ for lunch the next day, yum).

Passed by Famous Dave's and decided to give it a try. Unless you circle around Ontario Mills, you won't really know it's there. Luckily, this particular Friday wasn't as crowded as I had expected. Don't get me wrong, it was packed inside, just not outside. The server I had that night was great. But it probably didn't hurt that I was seated right outside the kitchen. He was a frequent visitor to the table and the other servers seemed to be good as well. Just like the rating says, I thought it was just Ok. There were some great sides, and some of the entrees were good as well...but it wasn't something that was spectacular. The food had a nation-wide chain feel where it was good for right now but maybe not all the time.

Waited about 45 min to be seated, seemed to go by pretty fast....service from start to finish was excellent.....food was so delish, loved their chicken.....brisket was so tender! And loved those corn muffins.....we will be back for sure! thanks for the goody bag...!

1st time here. We got the feast for two. All cooked just right (except the corn). Got wings as well with the pineapple spicy sauce. The bbqfood beans were really tasty with the little pieces of pork in it. Yummy! We Liked all the sauces too. (If you like it spicy...get Wilburs revenge sauce!!)

This is a nice location...friendly staff. LOVE the new blackberry BBQ sauce!! I ordered a salad that normally comes prepared with salad dressing and a drizzle of one of their staple BBQ sauces, but once I tried the Blackberry BBQ sauce on some fries (love the FRIES!!) I had them scrap those sauces and put this one on the side. I used it for my fries, I used it for my salad...shoot, they should bottle that ish and sell it in the store! The wait was a little crazy, but then again it was a Saturday night, so I understand. If I went back to the area, I would patronize them again. But I will agree with others who believe the brand is hyped. It's not the end-all be-all of BBQ. I'd like to try others in the area.

If you like Chili's and Applebees, you will probably like Famous Dave's. Rib tips were all bone no meat; Chicken was dry; sides were bland. Good for families with kids as restaurant is very noisy, but would not recommend if you want a date restaurant where you can carry on a conversation.

I went to Famous Dave's with a friend on Saturday night, and it was packed. I went inside to put our name down and started smelling the incredible aroma of delicious meat. By this time, I was already hungry, so the 25-30 minute wait while smelling food was torturous. Luckily, we sat down in about 15 minutes. My friend and I ordered the two meat combinations, which include, of course, two choices of meat, and two choices of sides, as well as corn on the cob and a cornbread muffin. I opted for a combination of spicy hot links and chopped pork, with mashed sweet potatoes and drunkin' apples. The hot link was just mediocre, and didn't have the oomph I expected from a Southern style link. The chopped pork claimed it was as juicy as a Georgia peach, but they must have meant the Georgia next to Russia, as the meat was pretty overcooked. If not for the variety of BBQ sauces to smother the meat in (My fave being the devil spit), I would have had a hard time finishing the food. The mashed sweet potatoes were decent, and the drunkin' apples just okay. Famous Dave's saving grace was the service. Our waiter was extremely attentive, and was on point with filling up water glasses, checking to see how everything was, and clearing our table. Five stars for him alone. Is Famous Dave's BBQ good? It's just A-OK. Would I come back? Probably not... Ontario Mills is just too far from Irvine to make the drive worth it.

Solid BBQ with decent prices. Love the variety of sauces to add. The drunkin apples are yummy! They even have some healthy options like steamed broccoli to help balance out what could be a heavy meal. The lines can get long during the dinner hour, so bring a jacket! A solid choice out here in Ontario, CA.

i'm not the biggest bbq fan, so when i have bbq it best be amazing! this place was alright but i think it may've been over-hyped for me because i've been hearing nothing but good things for a while and it did not live up to what i was expecting. i went for lunch and had the combo plate with the beef brisket and country chicken. for my sides i had the garlic mashed potatoes and i added a side broccoli and because it was my first time our server brought my table some kettle chips and explained in great detail all of the sauces that we dipped the chips in. the brisket was somewhat dry and didn't take to the sauces i liked very well. it was served on a pieces of toast but i didn't really think the toast helped it out at all, it was kind of a pointless servings of carbs. the chicken was cooked well and was ok paired with the two sauces i liked but still nothing to write home about. i feel like i could get comparable chicken at el pollo loco. the garlic mashed potatoes had a weird texture and i didn't really taste any garlic but i should mention my friends loved the mashed potatoes. to me the best part was the was the broccoli but come on, how hard is it to mess up a steamed vegetable. i squeezed some lemon and put some salt over it and it was delicious. if it wansn't for the great service this probably would have been a 2-star review but our serve was very efficient and did a great job explaining the sauces and pairings for the sauces.

I'm leaving my rating the same because I'm generally a fan of Famous Dave's, but I wanted to let you know NOT to try the new Not'cho Ordinary Nachos. They are shockingly bad. The chips aren't heated, the cheese isn't melted but rather a bit of shredded cheese is sprinkled on, and the toppings are skimpy. They're more like a barbecue taco salad than barbecue nachos.

  • Jesse W.

This place is just ok. The food saved it from less than 3 stars, but we had god AWFUL service. I even forgave the waiter for spilling iced tea on me. You figure after you mess up something like that you would give that table your utmost attention. However I didn't even get a refill on water the whole time we were there. Dant was the name of the server, and if you are reading this you got a little bit of work to do on your service. In any event the food was decent, the ribs are big and the brisket is seasoned but a little bit on the dry side. Our sides were coated with salt and generally didn't get too much attention. Green beans and the sweet mashed potatoes were about the only things that passed on sides. The food is moderately priced, feeding two people the kind of food we ate for under $40 is a good deal in my book. Service beware, but food is almost a sureshot, they even give you five different types of BBQ sauce that are sure to drown out the bad service we received :\

Three stars - A-OK per Yelp's scale, but it could be better to you. The sauces are all pretty great - I liked the Devil's Spit and the Rich and Sassy - and the roasted chicken was perfectly cooked. The brisket was a bit cold and crumbly, not quite the way I like it, but still tasty. The servers are very friendly and helpful. The catfish fingers are worth a trip just by themselves. FD's drops from 4 stars to 3 for me because of the pork- and chicken- heavy menu. Hard to find beef on there for a beef lover, but of course it's a BBQ place, and most people aren't quite as meat-monogamous as I am. Famous Dave's is definitely worth a try, see for yourselves. However, the way every server and busboy screams "FEAST!" when they bring out a family feast goes from cute, to irritating, to I want to punch a kitten over the course of the hour you'll spend there. Just saying.

Just an average corporate BBQ chain. Food is ok, however the ambiance is pretty cool. Prices aren't too bad, they're around $10 for a sandwich or burger. They give you a tiny portion of chips (as a free appetizer), so small it's comical. They use cheap silverware and serve Pepsi. Enjoy.

While I don't think there's anything wrong with Famous Dave's, I don't think it deserves a lot of praise, either. The meat is passable, the chicken decent, and the beans actually good. The cornbread muffin, as well, is fine, but nothing special. Fries, too, are nothing special. However, the pineapple salmon and side of sweet potatoes are actually somehow worse than if they'd just left them alone - no seasonings - and put them on the plate. The salmon's pineapple glaze was unnoticeable, and the sweet potatoes were more bland and pasty than if I'd just mashed them at home. They have about 4 of 5 dipping sauces, so that's good because you'll need something to add flavor to your meal. Customer service was fine, overall. Check it out, but if you have to chose between this and Lucille's, you'll probably like the overall flavor of all the foods at Lucille's more.

I would give 3.5 stars! We go here every month after buying cars! It has good food and great service. The ribs are a waste of money and not that good but most everything else is great! Check one our in your travels as they are all good as I have been to quite a few!

Very inviting environment. Famous Daves has the best tasting and filling food I have ever tasted in a commercial establishment. This is the closest to a home-cooked BBQ in a dine-in setting I have ever had. Great food, great service, and nice on your pocket. You could order one meal for two (always a plus). Love the brisket and ribs. Tender meat is always a major plus. VERY tasty food... Mmmmmm

I was introduced to Famous Dave's by my boss for a business lunch with our team. I've always driven passed this location on 4th St. when i'm in town. I've always seen the parking lot packed full of people since opening day. I'm glad we a chance to try this place out. I am a fan of Lucielle's but i've got to say, this place is now my new favorite BBQ joint. The ambiance is very western, cowboy type of place in contrast to the southern blues kinda place that Lucielle's is. The dining room is very wide open and is very inviting. There is also a bar adjacent to the main dining room. The half rack of bbq ribs is great. The meat falls off the bones and the seasonings are very tasty. The choice of barbecue sauces are awesome. You must try all of them to appreciate the taste. My favorites are the Rich & Sassy (Dave's original) and Devils Spit which is pretty spicy. The cornbread is tasty and flaky and the side dishes are plentiful. I had the coles slaw and the garlic red skin mashed potatoes. Yum! Don't forget to wash everything down with sweet iced tea. This place has a large parking lot and definitely lowered car friendly.

Went twice, once for the feast and another time we ordered seperate entrees. That being said if you want to really have a good dininng experience do it right by ordering the feast. Even if it's just the two of you. Nobody was happy with there individual plates, but the feast was the hook. And please don't order fish it's a BBQ joint.

My new favorite BBQ place! The employees are sooo friendly, the food-so scrumptious, I highly recommend giving it a try! Be sure to try the the homemade BBQ chip appetizer, its covered in all kinds of goodness!

Eh. Was expecting great ribs but it was just meh. They were on the dry side and didn't fall off the bones like I like my ribs to. I've had better ribs at Lucille's. However, the dessert (bread pudding) was delish as were the corn bread muffin (gritty and moist), garlic mashed taters (very garlic-ky), mac & cheese (very cheesy with a nice kick from the jalapenos), and cole slaw. The only side that was a disappointment was the beans, they were subpar like the ribs. The search for great bbq in Rancho continues...

This place has some cool decor and some really good BBQ one nice thing is you can choose from like 5 difference BBQ sauces which sit at your table the entire time the prices are fair and the portions are nice. the staff is polite and its a cool atmosphere my children love it.

This place is all about the sauce. There are several options from Sweet all the way to Devil's Spit (hot). Good place to take the family, they had a meal called the Feast best option if you are feeding a family and it is a lot of food. With some of everything.

Omg!! Where to start?? Soooo much food and it's sooooo good! I could literally just eat cornbread, it's scrumptious! This place has a guaranteed fun vibe. After eating some leftovers from my parents house I had no choice but to try it fresh! We came with some friends and it was a grate time, the food took a little long but that was to be expected on a weekend. I will definitely be back!

Food was great and we loved the wide variety of sauces. My only negative comment is that they place just doesn't feel authentic (but should I expect something different from a BBQ place in Ontario CA?). Instead it feels like typical franchise chain restaurant like Bubba Gump, Applebees, or Joes Crab Shack. The decor seems to try too hard and the menus feel too corporate. Overall liked the food.

First time going to famous dave's, I gotta say I was very impressed. I love all their bbq sauces. The waiter was very helpful! My bf and I ordered the brisket, rib tips and bbq chicken. Everything was delicious...from the corn, cornbread, mash potatoes, and beans. ( keep in mind, I dont even eat beans! Lol) also their jalepeno mac n cheese was mouth watering good. I just hope if we go to different locations it'll be as good as the one we went to.

Love Famous Dave's! I usually do the rack of ribs but was tempted by the Dr Pepper sauced Ribzilla. If you dig beef this is a killer meal. Think I'll stick with my spare ribs but this was a nice diversion. Give it a try.

Compared to Lucilles the portions are larger! I've been here twice once for take-out and another time with the family; both on a Friday night. The wait time was about 20 minutes. They also offer little snack for the little ones while you wait and have a cute minature sink for the kids to wash their hands. It's a very family friendy environment! Loved the feast!

It was good, especially for a chain. The rib tips were probably the best thing we ate out of everything. The brisket was dry, and the mac and cheese was very over cooked... too mushy for me!! The service was great and their bbq sauces are pretty good. Famous Daves satisfied our BBQ craving for the time being, but we will definitely go to a mom and pop place next time to get the real thing.

I have to put 4 stars because : - i had 6 ribs, gave 1 to father, 1 to mother, 1 to hubby and was still full at the end of the meal - decor. Go with a foreign relative (ie mom and dad for me, directly imported from France for their vacations). Listen to mom ohhh and aaah in front of each picture and little cup and pitcher and what not - 5 different sauces that my father tasted over and over non stop and discussing + and - of each - finally an industrial bbque sauce that i like. Still ask it on the side, and pour however much you want. Hence you can still taste the meat

its just 'okay' I think to the average eater, this place would be a four or five star place, but I have eaten at a good amount of BBQ spots and this is just 'okay.' I'm glad that me and my friends went here during lunch because if I were to pay more than I did it would have DEFINITELY not been worth it. Service was pretty good, we got seated quickly as there was not that many people waiting in line for a seat. The waiter came and got our orders very quickly. We ended up getting the lunch combo where you choose two meats: I chose the st.louis spareribs and the beef brisket. The combo came with corn, cornbread, and one side all for $9.99. So all-in-all pretty filling meal for a fairly cheap price. The food came to us and I was overjoyed at the plate it looked great, Dave's has five different sauces for you to use for your BBQ, and you're going to need them because the meat is definitely not good enough. The meat alone was pretty salty and for brisket not that tender at all. I had to drench the meat in sauces to feed myself. But I do got to say that there sauces are fairly good, especially the 'Devils Spit.' The cornbread is fairly good as well, but I expected a lot more out of the actual corn. I ended up getting fries as a side (which was good) but I soon regretted it when I got a taste of their mac&cheese. So all-in-all an okay meal I just wouldn't see myself coming here again.

I go here for the ribs. They are the hugest ribs I have ever had, very very flavorful! I am a big sauce person and they have sooo many great sauces to choose from!!!! I love the devils spit, since I love it spicey!!!! The ribs are like a rib steak!!! Even half a slab will fill you up!!! When I get the full rack I always take some home with me!!! If you love ribs and you have not been here yet, you have not lived!

A co-worked recommended this place and I'm not sure why? I ordered the two meat combo: chopped pork and beef brisket, came with corn muffin and two sides. I chose the baked beans and potato salad. Portions were small and food was too salty so it was overpriced as a result. All meat was served on slices of white bread so the portion looked larger but unfortunately, i wasn't fooled. Service was okay, the waiter was a little overbearing especially when he tried to tell my why I was "wrong" for preferring baby back ribs (hey, it's my taste, not yours!) which they don't sell there. I much prefer Joey's BBQ in Chino, Lucille's, or Canyon City BBQ in Azusa.

Went in after we arrived into Rancho Cucamonga. Our waiter was really nice and helpful. We got half rack of ribs and a half of a chicken. The ribs were a little burnt for my liking but some might love that. Chicken was chicken. We really enjoyed the Sweet Sauce. Famous Dave's has been at the Reno Rib Cook-off a few times so why not try the restaurant? Good BBQ if you are not in the mood to BBQ for yourself.

i ate here with my family for my cousins birthday. Walking in the place looked like fun, we were eating in the main dining hall, the only thing missing was a TV for us to watch the laker game. There are other tv's spread out elsewhere in the restaraunt but if this place really wantes to be on point then they should have a TV in the main dining haul. I didnt have a choice of what to order, my family just ordered three of those FEAST meals, and boy was it a feast! A feast meal is a large platter that comes with cornbread, ribs, primerib, chicken, french fries, corn, coleslaw, and beans. It probably feeds about a family of 6. We also ordered the onion strings which i was a fan of, and the sweet tea was realllly good. Our server was really friendly and enthusiastic and really took care of our table. Great restaraunt overall!

My husband and I used to go to this place in Mpls when we lived there and we've long lamented that they need to bring one to the West Coast, so we were super excited when they opened. We love their food, service is consistently good, atmosphere is fun (our 2 year old LOVES it). Our only complaint is that they don't serve baby back ribs. Please consider adding it to your menu, Dave's!!!

I've been twice. The first time I enjoyed the food, the service was attentive, it was an OK experience. We decided to take a buddy out, so the three of us sat down, and waited, and waited. The service was really slow, and yeah it was busy. When we got our food, mine was cold. Really cold. My friend ate some of mine, but all I wanted to do is leave. Go to Lucille's, much, much better! Better atmosphere, better table's, and the employee's seem to care about the patron's needs.

I like their Beef Brisket and their ribs. The place is kind of loud. The food is good value, prepared to my taste and served promptly. I have also eaten at Famous Dave's in other cities. I like the consistency of the product they serve.

I came to Famous Dave's at 3:30 p.m. yesterday to enjoy a late lunch with a friend. We both ordered the pulled pork combo which was really reasonable (about 12 bucks each). It comes with pulled pork on a piece of white bread, a corn muffin, corn on the cob, and 2 sides. I had the mashed potatoes and green beans, neither of which were particularly memorable. My friend had coleslaw which was really yummy, and potato salad which again was fine. The reason I would come back to Famous Dave's was for the happy hour specials. 2 dollar regular beers and 3 dollar talls, along with 4 dollar appetizers. The restaurant was clean and they had tons of tv's in the bar area. I prefer Lucille's for a chain BBQ restaurant, but Famous Dave's wasn't bad and I would definitely come to watch a basketball game.

My friends and I usually eat lunch next door to Famous Daves at Bj's Restaurant & Brewhouse, but we decided to give Dave's a try. As far as a lunch menu goes, they have little to offer. $ 6.99 gets you a basic potato (about the size of your fist) and salad with three dressings to choose from. We were eating just after 2:00 PM on a Wednesday, and there were only two staff members taking care of all the guests in the entire restaurant (one was the bartender), this provided for slow service and a feeling that just as I didn't want to be there, the two Dave's employees didn't want to either.

Wow am I the only one that has not been particularly happy with this place? Damn I hate being the odd man out, but I feel obligated to put in my two cents. I think I don't like this place very much because BBQ isn't my specialty. On two seperate occasions I've had the chicken bbq and the salmon bbq. Of course it comes with like 5 sides. I don't like the mashed potatoes. Church's Chicken has better mashed potatoes. The corn bread muffic is old. The other sides, whatever, they're edible. The bbq chicken was okay. The bbq salmon was waaay bad. I know that there aren't many people that order bbq fish, but damn this place made me question my love for salmon. For me it's not worth the $12 for a meal.

Recently my wife and I were in Peoria, Arizona and came across Famous Dave's BBQ restaurant. Can't rave enough about this place. Some of the best BBQ meats I have ever eaten. Fast & friendly service. Dave's in Peoria gets an A++. Well we found a Famous Dave's in Rancho Cucamonga and decided to give it a try. All I can say is, how can one place be so different from the other. The food did not taste the same what so ever. Are they allowed to change recipes from one store to another? Don't know, but this place might have well been an Arby's fast food joint. Food was terrible. Not only that, we arrived at the restaurant in the early afternoon, so not many people were there. After being seated, it took at least 20 min. for anyone to acknowledge we were even sitting there waiting for a waiter. I timed our order and it took approximately 40 min. to get served. Waitress was friendly enough, but what took so long? Must have sent out to Arby's for the order. Stay away from this place and try a Dave's somewhere else.

I went here with a couple of friends during lunch and ordered something from their lunch menu. Catfish was yummy....but I had to try their bread pudding. My friends kept raving about this bread pudding and had to try it for myself. After trying it, I have to say that the bread pudding here is one of the best that I've ever had. I can't wait to try it again.

Most of the time it's excellent....but sometimes it's god awful!!! The first time I came here I was getting out of the car to go to BJ's and the smell....oh the wonderful smell....taunted my husband and I. So we went here instead. It was spectacular! But then the next time.....it was horrible....and the next time....spectacular!!! So what the hell is going on?? I realize the key is to go to Famous Dave's when it's really REALLY busy, because, naturally, the food is fresh and tastes delish when they are grilling large amounts of food that is flying out of the kitchen...rather than cooking large amounts of food and having it sit.....so if you go when it's slow, you will have lazy crappy service, and old dry chicken...that is not "fresh" off the grill. The margaritas are really gross, tastes like corn syrup and cheap tequila. I recommend the combo plates....the tri tip is great, the brisket also tasty, and I love the country roasted chicken (when it's not dry and old, that is). The corn is disappointing though. You think it's going to be like the fresh grilled corn at the fair...but instead it's just boring frozen corn...what is up with that??? My husband loves the ribs and the pork sausage. I have never tried a burger or salad...and I am afraid I will hate them, so I stick to the combo platters. The bread pudding is delicious!!

We have only gotten take out from this place, so I can't comment on the dining room service. I have to say I have been pretty pleased with the food. The meat has been nice, moist, and flavorful. The ribs have had a good amount of meat and not fat-laden or mostly bone. Most of the side dishes have been pretty tasty too. Seems to always be busy.

BBQ is such a huge part of my life. The incredible amount of food at the table and the people you spend it with are treasured moments. Now, I personally feel that I can cook a good rack of ribs with my own dry rub, but Famous Daves kicks my ass hands down. Famous Dave's has a very festive atmosphere. The moment you walk in the joint you can hear the sounds of patrons engaged in conversation, plates clanging in the kitchen, and the servers yelling " feast feast feast," whenever somebody orders the "feast." The feast looked so good on the servers hands as she handled it with the up most care. It looked pretty heavy because there was so much food on one trashcan like lid. I couldn't handled it no more. We had to order the "feast." A generous portion of corn-on-the-cob, BBQ chicken, baby back ribs, BBQ beans (which I love), cole slaw, cornbread, potato wedges, and your choice of brisket or chopped pork. I opted for the chop pork. Luckily for me, everyone was in agreement with my choice. The meal is fit for a king, however it feeds a table of four comfortably. Don't be surprised if you take some leftovers home. Our server was so cool with us. She gave me a tour of the kitchen and handed me a bottle of their signature sauce. By the way, the kitchen looked really nice. For a second, it felt like I went to heaven. The amount of beef inside the place would make every BBQ artist cry like a baby in a candy store. In fact, I think I shed a tear. I recommend the feast, a tall glass of beer and a smile because Dave's leaves you so happy to gain weight. Food cost are reasonable and service was awesome. Thank you Famous Dave's. I will apply for a application as soon as possible.

So Stapleton has a glorious past...The airport..industry..mostly died off.. and who could forget the crips and the bloods....But its 2008..and things are commin up roses for the once gang ridden area. Maybe the brightest star in the Stapleton skies shines over "Famous Dave's". many places are telling us they are the best...But "Dave's" is my pick for best because their product is consistant...The service is good (and you know how I loves my service) and the bang for the buck puts a pretty little bow on it all. Durning the Stock Show last season I happened to be in the area and had a craving for some good BBQ...so we stopped in and the play was jammed packed...wall to wall...just as we were about to split..two seats at the bar became availiable...i figured "hell...i like to drink...and I could eat at the bar" Was this the best idea...you bet...the bar tender was a blast.. he new everything about ALL of their food..and the day was saved... First timers might try the sampler plates..try each of their BBQ sauces.. (devil's spit is my fav)...DO NOT WARE A WHITE SHIRT...unless you want to go out lookin retro in you new tiedied look...4 stars for the food.. 5 stars for the service..3 stars for the location...Build a "Dave's" on Wads and get a 5 star from Breeze... Now go try it on your own and hit me back..agree or dis-agree... and remember... "if it aint devils spit...it aint.....devils spit...( pg rating)

My son received a Famous Dave's award at school so we decided to have some lunch there to redeem his award! They had run out of kids placemats/menus so was told to order off the To Go Menu and given a piece of while printer paper to play with! They chose Country Chicken with carrots and Oreos. We also ordered a Caesar salad, a side of fries and kids drinks. Everything arrived quickly, that was the one star award, for Famous Dave's!! The plates were faded and wet, the salad dripping in dressing and the chicken dripping in oil along with the carrots! Fries were great, the Oreos never showed up! Most restaurants, when a child receives a restaurant award someone at least says "Good Job" or makes a bigger deal out of it (take a leaf out of Lazy Dog's book with the manager making it special not only with praise but a token gift too), we were told "we'll took your coupon and that is reward enough"! Kind of stinks!

I've been to Famous Dave's many times and I don't know why I haven't reviewed it yet...I went this past weekend again. My family and I love this place. It is by far one of the best BBQ places I have ever been to and considering it is a chain, it does a real good job. I have been to this one (Ontario, CA), the one in Redlands and one in Vegas and all three were awesome experiences. This weekend I had a half a slab or ribs with a spicy italian sausage, with some mac n' cheese and wilbur beans for sides. It also came with a cornbread muffin. Everything was perfect! Also, I love their Sweet Mama's Punch...it's delicious and two of those get me to where I want to go...I've had pretty much everything at Famous Dave's and it's all good! I stopped wasting my money @ Lucille's since this place opened up...seriously, I don't know how they keep their quality so excellent considering it's a restaurant chain...

Pretty good BBQ and fun atmosphere. A little expensive, but all together worth it. Better in big groups I think, you can get this platter that serves several people that has a little bit of everything on it - more fun.

I first had Famous Dave's in St. Paul Minnesota and it was the best BBQ I'd ever had. Now I've eaten in several states and it's just as good every time. The feast (or feast for two) is the way to go. Everyone I've taken there has the same opinion... it's awesome!

Impelled by Mike M.'s review, we decided to celebrate the wife's birthday at Famous Dave's. The wife is a real barbecue fan and knows her stuff- she's from Kentucky. I'll have to agree that the "corporate" imprint is all over this place, but the food really makes up for all that. We opted for the "feast" platter at $67, to split among five healthy eaters and it was more than enough. With soft drinks, a side or two and a child's mac and cheese, the total bill; was almost a hundred bucks. Ribs were outstanding, the chicken was very good and the brisket was better than average. There were five different barbecue sauces, but they were really unnecessary. The meats were perfect as they were, unless you like the meat swimming in sauce, and besides, the sauces were pretty overpowering if you used much more than a dash. The Georgia Mustard sauce was interesting, but the Texas was best. The sides were fair- the cole slaw was pretty good, but it is a personal thing- really depends on your cole slaw baseline. This was good for me. The rest of the sides were good bur unnecessary. There are corn muffins that were uninspiring. It's OK- This place lives on the meat. Now the negatives: Too much bogus foofaraw- Cheers...the entire staff screaming their lungs out, trading cheers from one end of the place to the other, and they stood right adjacent to my left ear as they did it.... Some of those girls can break glass with their shrill screams. The cheers of "Feast , Feast!" every time a table orders the Feast. As Mike observed- annoying. We managed to escape the "barbecue sauce lecture:" they inflicted on Mike, and our female server pretty much glossed over the "Famous Mary" intro when she arrived at our table. She was seen and not heard most of the time, except when she was refilling our drinks at regular intervals. Very efficient. Otherwise, she left us alone. The cutesy wall signs- I bristled at the biggest that said "This is where the SWINE DINE or something to that effect. Just the antique signs and stuff would have been fine. I liked the rest of the decoration- it was a bit like Bob's Country Bunker, the cowboy bar that the Blues Brothers played in, with strings of bare bulbs across the ceiling shedding illumination that's not quite dark but not quite bright. The music- it's a bit loud, but they turned it down a little while we were there. Maybe someone complained. The music is mostly rowdy rock-a-billy blues, but personally, I would have felt more at home with some "low-down dirty blues," maybe some Canned Heat or Mayall...a bit more subtle, you know? OK, aside from my picky criticisms, the place is fine, albeit a little pricey when you start adding in the side orders. They have beer and wine, altho an "impertinent little chardonnay" seems out of place here, but there was no Lone Star. Had I wanted a beer, I would have had to settle for MGD. There's outside seating but it looked a lot like the outside seating at McDonalds. I'd give 4 stars for the food and service, three for the ambiance. ENJOY

I am all about this place. The amount of food you get for the price is great! The bbq is really good, corn bread is amazing, coleslaw is different (in a good way), and the drinks are stiff. On the other hand I wasn't a fan of the fries and I also thought that the chanting of 'FEAST' got old...fast. However, those few complaints will not stop me from eating there again...and they shouldn't keep you away either!

The bf is a major meat eater and I was craving BBQ chicken so we came here. We were seated immediately. We ordered the feast for two, and boy was it a feast! Our food came within about 6 minutes, and we noticed that when the waitress was carrying out food out to us, the staff yelled, "FEAST! FEAST! FEAST! FEAST!" which was funny. I guess they do that to pretty much everyone who orders that. The feast came with BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, a huge hotlink, two corn on the cobs, four cornbread muffins, steak fries, and your choice of two sides. We chose the BBQ beans and garlic mashed potatoes. It was a lot of food, for only $38! I thought it was a great deal. There is also a roll of paper towels at your table, for those messy rib eaters like me. I figure since I only eat this type of meat once or twice a year, I better dig in. A selection of sauces is at every table, and our waitress was kind enough to let us taste them so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. The food was really good. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, flavorful and had just the right amount of sauce. The chicken was equally, if not more, tender and was still juicy and packed with flavor. The hot link was thick and smokey, and reminded me of Texas bbq. All of the sides were tasty and fresh. I can't pick a favorite side because they were all so good. We always had our cups refilled with tea and soda, and our waitress came back and checked on us periodically. I only took away one star because the bathrooms were disgusting. Every stall was dirty. But other than that, I would most definitely be back. I would even go as far as to say that Dave's BBQ is even better than Lucille's. Prices are about average for a BBQ place, and there is a selection of sandwiches, salads, appetizers and desserts, which we didn't order because we were so stuffed. I was in a food coma for a few hours after...a delicious, BBQ, dirty fingers with a sauce stain on my shirt food coma...

This BBQ resturant was okay. Food has a good flavor, was received warm and pricing was so/so. The reason I am taking my time to write this was due to the poorest service I ever received. Just wanted to share. This last Saturday evening 06/30/2012 arrived around 7:00 PM. Was told would be around twenty to twenty five minutes wait. After thirty five minutes later. I checked in to see where we were on list for seating. On a Saturday evening this is expected and understood. We were second in line. Party of two ahead of us and then our party ( four). Well the party of two was called and then thinking we were next in line. Two parties were called in before us ....a party of four and then a party of five. Thinking that there might be an oversight went in and asked the hostess, why we were not called in. The hostess remarked if we were still interested in dining, I said yes of course and asked her why other parties where called in before us. No reasonable explanation was given. (Strike one). After 45 minutes we are seated - 7:45PM. Now after fifteen minutes, I got up and asked for Service. The bartender was covering the area. (She was very pleasant and very much over whelmed.) Finally she came over and took our food order and drink, mentioning the waiter that is responsible for this section was at lunch. OK, if that is true where was his back up, the Bartender? If the manager thinks that a bartender can do both , his mind set is in the wrong place. The drinks arrived in a reasonable time. After thirty minutes of waiting for food again had to ask for the manager( Strike two) . When the manage (Mark) arrived, I express my concerned of the poor service we were receiving. The manager came quickly express his concern and stated that we must have fallen between the cracks and was very sorry and gave us a 15.00 discount and he refilled out drinks. Still no waiter or waitress ever served us, wait a pity. I am not a person who wants something for nothing . (Strike three) We ate our food and waited for our bill and waited and waited. I was so frustrated, I just wanted to get the heck out of the restaurant. Not until got up again and was looking of someone for help....being so aggregated. Paid my bill and left. I am not pleased at all and I am hopeful that the management will take notice and educate the servers of the importance of customer service. Please do somthing.

my sister and i came here on a fluke while on our way home from the ontario mills mall. we didn't want to leave ontario yet due to the traffic so we drove around and said hey... minus well try it. came here and decided to sit at the bar to try the happy hour. when we got there it took a minute for the server to get to us but when he came he seemed friendly. we ordered our food. i got the rib appetizer along with $1 pulled chicken slider and the $1 pulled pork slider along with a side of mac n cheese. my sister opted for the bbq chicken with fries as well as some mac n cheese. when our food came out the server then proceeded to tell us about the different types of bbq sauces. all the sauces were super yummy but my favorite had to be the house sauce.. famous dave's bbq sauce. the appetizer was amazing and soft. lightly seasoned with bbq sauce we were able to try the different types of sauces with our food. the pulled chicken slider was amazing. it had a little zing to it. over all the food is really good. i recommend that you try it during their happy hour if its your first time. happy eating

I had an epiphany. While sitting at Famous Dave's it hit me. I hate it when server's are too nice. I hate it when corporate managers sit in a booth, working, and the lackeys hang around trying to suck up. Why should I be subjected to that? Why should I be subjected to servers chanting."FEAST" just because a customer is particularly hungry. And come to think of it, I hate it when a large contingency of servers gather to sing a strange version of "Happy Birthday." All of this occured because I was willing to give corporate America a try. Famous Dave's BBQ is a chain. And the meat, the ribs are good. Nice flavor, texture, taste. All that one wants in ribs. But the sides. Horrible. The Green Beans were uneatable. The Mashed Sweet Potatoes were boring. The servers were too nice. They try to give you a corporate lecture on BBQ sauce, which may be fine if you are fresh out of a 75 year prison stint, but for anyone who eats food, this lecture is degrading and an insult. Also, the servers call themselves with the prefix "Famous." So, if your server is Tom, he will say, "Hi, I am famous Tom." How annoying. BBQ needs to be an adventure, not a trip to an amusement park, where the employees were fired from Disneyland for being too friendly. At a BBQ place, I want a server who might have escaped jail, or is a product of an illicit affair between two feuding hill billy clans. Or, give me a server who speaks like Tom Waits, not a valley chick on acid. Can corporate America give me that? No. But the meat was tasty, thus they get three stars. Are there better BBQ joints? Yes.
